Forty years ago today, a four-man crew of an Army Reserve helicopter was flying over Mansfield, Ohio, around 11:00 p.m. when they “encountered a near midair collision with an unidentified flying object,” according to the official report, signed and submitted by the crew after the incident.
A full explanation for this terrifying UFO close encounter has never been offered, and to this day, the helicopter-UFO incident remains one of the most credible — and terrifying — in the history of the subject. . . . Read Complete Report
A number of unusual glowing lights recently appeared in the sky near a smoking ship reportedly somewhere off the California coast. They moved in that dazzling way that gets UFO enthusiasts excited, lighting up the sky.
Then, one-by-one, the lights disappear in different directions away from the ship.
According to the YouTube poster of the video, looknowtv, these unidentified objects were “recorded in California from the viewpoint of the beach. You can see a few UFOs flying over or behind this ship which appears to have a large amount of smoke coming from it.” . . . Read Complete Report

Once upon a time, Area 51 didn’t exist. Now, apparently, it does. And it’s still one of the most secret places in America.
After decades of denial, the government now publicly acknowledges that Area 51 — seen below in a satellite image — is a secret military installation north of Las Vegas. It has been variously referred to as Groom Lake, Dreamland and The Ranch. . . . Read Complete Report

Did someone shoot and kill a Bigfoot in Pennsylvania and then call 911 to say he had proof of the yet-to-be-proven creature?
After confusing reports over the past couple of weeks, it appears this was a case of a story that became mired in rumor and fiction.
Back on May 14, John Winesickle, a resident of Paint Township in Pennsylvania’s Somerset County, called 911, claiming to have proof of Bigfoot, according to WTAJ News.
After months of waiting for a peer-reviewed scientific journal to publish findings on the validity of alleged Bigfoot DNA evidence, the time has come for answers. But is there enough empirical evidence to finally confirm that the elusive, tall, hairy man-beast of North America really exists? Maybe, but questions have now been raised about the scientific journal publishing the findings.
In November, after a five-year study of purported Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch) DNA samples, Texas geneticist Melba Ketchum and a team of experts in genetics, forensics, imaging and pathology, were anxious for their findings to be published in a scientific journal. On Wednesday, their research appeared in the DeNovo Journal of Science, which seemed to confirm Ketchum’s research about the reality of Bigfoot. . . . Read Complete Report

When a strange, milky-white object glided over the Olympics opening ceremony and was caught on video, there was chatter that this was the extraterrestrial visitation for which UFO researchers are constantly searching.
Now we know the truth behind the strange object spotted amid the pyrotechnics spectacle. It was Goodyear’s “Spirit of Safety” blimp. And a spokesman for the company tells HuffPost why the aircraft appeared so mysterious.
To put it simply, the Goodyear name wasn’t on the airship, even though it was illuminated the entire time. . . . Read Complete Report

As fireworks lit up the heavens above the Olympics opening ceremony, watched by around a billion people, something else was seen among the whizz-bangs in the night sky… a UFO.
It may have ticked all the cliche boxes – saucer-shaped, bulge in the middle, metallic – but no one has yet stepped forward to explain the slow-moving object.
The incident came right at the close of last Friday’s spectacular at the Olympic Park stadium in Stratford, east London at around 12.30am.
And it was just as Nick Pope, one of the UK’s top UFO experts, predicted only weeks ago – that mass summer events would be a prime time for crafts from other worlds to present themselves to mankind. . . . Read Complete Report
“The disc-shaped object is first seen entering the upper left portion of the video as the fireworks erupt over the stadium. The UFO — which appears to have a dome or bulge rising from its center — moves slowly across the sky as if deliberately observing the light-show spectacle below it.” . . . Text posted with video
Two weeks ago, it was revealed that former prime minister Tony Blair received a briefing about UFOs from the Ministry of Defence because of his concerns over the disclosure of classified information on alien life-forms.
Downing Street requested the advice for the PM in 1998 as the Freedom of Information Act was being introduced, which allowed the public to obtain information on alien mysteries. . . Read Complete Report
Newly released X-Files from the United Kingdom’s National Archives reveal the role of that country’s Ministry of Defense UFO Desk officers, what they actually thought about possible alien visits to Earth and their ideas on harnessing alien technology as a weapon.
There are 25 files, comprising more than 6,700 pages, that include UFO policy, parliamentary questions, media issues, public correspondence and, of course, UFO sighting reports. Overall, more than 10,000 UFO reports came through the special Ministry of Defense unit from 1950 to 2009.
“These are probably the most fascinating and bizarre government files ever made available to the public,” said Nick Pope, who was the UFO Desk officer from 1991 to 1994. . . . Read complete Report (w/ video)
A third of Earthlings believe in UFOs, would befriend aliens
Aliens often compete with superheroes, vampires and zombies to top hit movie lists — but more than a third of Americans say UFOs are not a fantasy.
That’s the word from a new National Geographic Channel study finding that 80 million Americans are certain UFOs exist and that one in 10 believe they’ve spotted one.
“We wanted the pulse on people’s opinions,” says Brad Dancer, senior vice president of research and digital media for National Geographic. “We wanted to get a sense of how Americans view UFOs, what people believe and how mainstream pop culture may or may not be playing into their opinions on it.” . . . Happy anniversary, Roswell, N.M. It was 65 years ago today that the Roswell Daily Record blasted an infamous headline claiming local military officials had captured a flying saucer on a nearby ranch. And now, a former CIA agent says it really happened.
“It was not a damn weather balloon — it was what it was billed when people first reported it,” said Chase Brandon, a 35-year CIA veteran. “It was a craft that clearly did not come from this planet, it crashed and I don’t doubt for a second that the use of the word ‘remains’ and ‘cadavers’ was exactly what people were talking about.”
Brandon served as an undercover, covert operations officer in the agency’s Clandestine Service for 25 years, where he was assigned missions in international terrorism, counterinsurgency, global narcotics trafficking and weapons smuggling. He spent his final 10 years of CIA service on the director’s staff as the agency’s first official liaison to the entertainment and publication industries. It was during this time, in the mid-1990s, that he walked into a special section of CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., called the Historical Intelligence Collection. . . . Read Complete Report
