Rep. Ron Paul, the iconic libertarian congressman from Texas, has delivered what will most likely be his final address to Congress.
In a sprawling, 52-minute speech to the House chamber, Paul lambasted U.S. government, politicians and special interests, declaring that the U.S. people must return to virtue before the government allows them to be free, and that the Constitution has failed to limit the scope of an authoritarian bureaucracy.
“Our Constitution, which was intended to limit government power and abuse, has failed,” Paul said. “The Founders warned that a free society depends on a virtuous and moral people. The current crisis reflects that the concerns were justified.” . . . Read Complete Report
Back in a 1992 old subscription snail mail Hollow Earth Insider I ran an extended report on a revolutionary, outside-the box, issued legal money without any Federal Reserve involvement attached. This new money issued by locals in Ithaca New York called “Ithica Hours.” . . . EDITER
Ithaca HOURS are not backed by national currency and cannot be freely converted to national currency, although some businesses may agree to buy them.
HOURS are printed on high-quality paper and use faint graphics that would be difficult to reproduce, and each bill is stamped with a serial number, in order to discouragecounterfeiting.
In 2002, a one-tenth hour bill was introduced, partly due to the encouragement and funding from Alternatives Federal Credit Union and feedback from retailers who complained about the awkwardness of only having larger denominations to work with; the bills bear the signatures of both HOURS President Steve Burke and the president of AFCU. . . .Read Complete Wikipedia Report

The states that have filed a petition to secede from the United States is growing every day since the election results were final.
The next step for these states will be a local currency. But local currency’s are nothing new. Below is a list of states and local communities within those states that already have a model in place for just such an event.
It may seem like Monopoly money to outsiders, but a growing number of communities across the U.S. are using homegrown local currencies to stimulate their economies and protect themselves from the nation’s broader economic woes.
Now, even state governments are exploring the option. Lawmakers in more than 10 states, including Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, Idaho and Tennessee, have been circulating proposals to introduce alternative currencies — many of which would be issued in the form of gold or silver coins.
The economy is in trouble and people don’t trust the Federal Reserve and they don’t trust the government, so this is somewhere they can turn, and somewhere they can still do business if the banks close.. . Read Complete Report

Well we didn’t get our goal of 5% of the vote. (1%) But we didn’t start talking about the possibility of being recognized as a party with the same status as the Controllers one-party-acting-as-one by getting 5 % until the lase couple of days before the election.
But I’m not unhappy with the vote we did get. Why am I not unhappy? I happen to have been at one of the first gathering of people interested in a freedom party in LA in 1971 and the founders of the Libertarian explained to us that we would not be recognized overnight. The Libertarian plan (at that time) was a 200 year plan. I think we are making better progress than that. . . EDITOR

Libertarian Party candidate Gov. Gary Johnson and the Green Party’s Jill Stein sound off once more before Election Day, debating live from RT’s Washington, DC studio on November 5.
Gary Johnson has been an outspoken advocate for efficient government, balanced budgets, rational drug policy reform, protection of civil liberties, comprehensive tax reform, and personal freedom. As Governor of New Mexico, Johnson was known for his common sense business approach to governing. He eliminated New Mexico’s budget deficit, cut the rate of growth in state government in half, and privatized half of the state prisons. http://www.garyjohnson2012.com/front

All the elections in my voting lifetime,up to ’92, I had a pretty firm view on my party alignment. For me, the SHTF on elections that year. Watching every debate since and not seeing the main stream media (MSM) pay attention to any other party or candidates than the big two one, I feel it’s important to find some way to force MSM to pay attention. The other candidates offer well constructed solutions instead of well written rhetoric. That rhetoric has been the same old song and dance for twenty years now. It’s time for a new tune. And a new candidate…ME! Read more

The National Retail Sales Tax program (NRSTP) I have offered up as a solution to our country’s economic troubles would replace the current income tax schemewith a flat 25% national retail sales tax on all new goods and services. There would be no tax on used goods under my plan, and all tax withholding would stop. Workers would be paid their full wage, minus only state and local taxes. Once again, the American people would decide how to use and spend their own money.
This factor alone would be a major step toward true freedom and independence.
