This is an interview with the investigative team known as Bigfoot Chicks. Having recently had a Cryptothon at the radio show I host The Church Of Mabus. Consisting of many personalities well known in the Bigfoot research field. It is a pleasure to see more women taking this approach when it comes to research and field work. I am glad to be able to bring you this interview to make more people aware of the team known as Bigfoot Chicks. I hope you enjoy this interview. Presenting.

DNA to shed light on yeti claims

from BBC News

22 May 2012 Last updated at 11:57 ET

A UK-Swiss team will use DNA testing to investigate the origins of remains claimed to be from yeti and bigfoot.

The project will examine hair, bone and other material from a collection amassed by a Swiss biologist – and will invite submissions from elsewhere.

Many cultures relate legends of hairy, humanoid creatures that lurk in the wilds, rarely seen.

But material claimed to be from such creatures have never been subjected to modern scientific techniques.

“It’s an area that any serious academic ventures into with a deal of trepidation… It’s full of eccentric and downright misleading reports,” said Prof Bryan Sykes, from Oxford University.

The researchers will apply a systematic approach and employ the latest advances in genetic testing, aiming to publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

“There have been DNA tests done on alleged yetis and other such things but since then the testing techniques, particularly on hair, have improved a lot due to advances in forensic science,” the Oxford geneticist told Reuters news agency.

Modern testing could get valid results from a fragment of a shaft of hair, added Prof Sykes, who is leading the project with Michel Sartori, director of the Lausanne Museum of Zoology.

The Cryptid Zone: A Menagerie of Cryptozoology

site The Cryptid Zone

Cryptozoology is the study of animals and other creatures that have not yet been accepted by science as real. In other words, it is monster-hunting. Cryptozoologists look for creatures like sea serpents and the yeti, hoping to gather enough evidence to prove that these beings exist. They also look for more commonplace animals, such as the ivory-billed woodpecker, the giant vampire bat, the inflatable hedgehog and the pygmy elephant. Creatures that are under investigation by cryptozoologists are called cryptids. Although cryptozoology doesn’t get much respect from other scientific disiplines, it has had some spectacular success stories, including the pongo (now known as the gorilla), the okapi (an animal that looks like a cross between a giraffe and zebra), and the coelacanth (a prehistoric fish thought to be extinct).

Cryptozoologists are a specialized branch of monster hunters. Since their ultimate goal is to discover either new species of animal or new subspecies, the science of cryptozoology is rooted in biology. The more a creature shows evidence of being supernatural, the less likely it is that cryptozoologists would be interested in it. Not many cryptozoologists investigate the strangest things like ghostly demon cats, Mothman or werewolves. Ghost hunts are left to the paranormal investigators and a few fringe cryptozoologists. On the other hand, there are very few animals, however mythical they may be, that have never stirred the interest of a cryptozoologist. This is because perfectly real animals have often been obscured by so much folklore that they seemed ridiculous. . . . Visit Site

Killing Bigfoot OK in Texas – if he’s Texan

Texas has no position on the existence of Bigfoot — but go on, hunt it anyway.

John Lloyd Scharf, a Bigfoot fan from Oregon, emailed the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department last week about hunting unknown creatures.

Chief of staff Lt. David. Sinclair told FoxNews.com he responded with a straight description of the law — which hinges not on whether the mythical beast exists, but on precisely how the government would label it.

“The statute that you cite (Section 61.021) refers only to game birds, game animals, fish, marine animals or other aquatic life. Generally speaking, other nongame wildlife is listed in Chapter 67 (nongame and threatened species) and Chapter 68 (nongame endangered species),” Sinclair wrote back to Scharf.

“An exotic animal is an animal that is non-indigenous to Texas. Unless the exotic is an endangered species, then exotics may be hunted on private property with landowner consent.”

The law boils down to provenance, Scharf decided. If Bigfoot is indigenous to Texas, it can be killed. . . . Read Complete Report

‘To Kill Or Not To Kill’ Interview with Bigfoot killer Justin Smeja

This has to be one of the most controversial interviews I have ever done. Many times we have discussed Bigfoot on my radio show The Church of Mabus. We have gotten into them from a researcher’s perspective and had many enlightening discussions about them. I have always been a pro advocate against killing them. I have written articles about them being portrayed in horror movies cruelly and wrongfully as murderers. But now the shoe is on the other foot with Justin Smeja. Justin claims to have shot an older and younger Bigfoot while hunting.

One of the most controversial cryptos in the field of creatures would have to be Bigfoot. Some theories of what this creature is even over laps into the paranormal realms. While even other theories over lap into the realm of UFOs. Never has such a creature been so diverse when it comes to figuring out exactly what it is. Native American legend shares some highlights as to what Bigfoot really could be in my opinion and many others. From the name Boss of the Mountain which makes Bigfoot out to be a spirit of sorts that protects mother nature and the Earth in sacred spots. . . . Read complete report
