John Kerry Gets into Trouble on a Boat — Again (+) The Obama scandals continue

John Kerry. Member of Skull & Bones just like George Bush and the rest of the Bush Crime Family. Spent less than a year in South Vietnam, yet reminds people of his “service” every other sentence.  The guy wrote himself up for Purple Hart medals for outpatient “wounds” and carried a 8 mil camera around with him, staging scenes to make himself look like a hero. Film to be used during his planned future Presidential bid just like Scull & Bones told him to do.  Problem was . . . the real heroes of the Swift Boat he was stationed on.  They told the truth about his “tour” of duty.  He was lying. Am I surprised he was caught in another lie -off on his pleasure boat –  where he was when he was suppose to be “Reporting for Duty” again?

COMMENTARY | One of the more annoying aspects of the (non)coup that overthrew the Muslim Brotherhood regime in Egypt was the question of where Secretary of State John Kerry was when the regime change went down.

Kerry was on his yacht off Nantucket while the upheaval started, something that a sharp eyed CBSNews producer noted, according to Hot Air’s Mary Katherine Ham. At first the State Department denied that this was the case. Then, in the face of evidence to the contrary, State admitted that Kerry was “briefly” on his boat but was nevertheless on top of the Egypt situation, working the phones. Sorry about that, Mr. Media Person, for calling you a liar. . . . Read Complete Report

I’ve often commented that Obama makes appointments based on the desire to make himself look better; obviously (rather than for the good of the country) Obama also looks for easily manipulated and/or thuggish politically devious staff.
How else to explain Hillary Clinton? Timothy Geithner? Eric Holder?
  And then John Kerry.
  Sigh.
  John Kerry.
Married to a loaded Republican’s widow, kept “man” to Tah-ra-zah and the quintessential Boston Brahmin that so many of the elite used to ridicule, now spends his Gatsby days sporting around the globe, . . . Read Complete Report

[IROS 2012] AR Drone Helps Swarm of Self-Assembling Robots to Overcome Obstacles

POSTED BY: EVAN ACKERMAN  /  TUE, OCTOBER 23, 2012

We’re used to thinking of robot swarms as consisting of lots and lots of similar robots working together. What we’re starting to see now, though, are swarms of heterogeneous robots, where you get different robots combining their powers to make each other more efficient and more capable. One of the first projects to really make this work was Swarmanoid, with teams of footbots and handbots and eyebots, and researchers presented a similar idea at IROS earlier this month, using an AR Drone to help a swarm of self-assembling ground robots to climb over a hill. . . . [IROS 2012] Robotic Airplane, Boat, and Submarine Team Up to Monitor Coral Reefs

POSTED BY: EVAN ACKERMAN  /  TUE, OCTOBER 09, 2012

Designing a robot that can do everything is hard. Robots work best when they’re given one specific task to perform and have been constructed with that task in mind, so if you’re trying to, say, monitor coral reefs from the air, the surface of the ocean, and under water all at once, you can either drive yourself nuts trying to come up with some sort of autonomous submersible seaplane, or you can just teach a robotic airplane, robotic boat, and robotic submarine to all work together. . . .
