John Morgan and his firm are one of the best known “Peoples Law firms” in the state and has become a local hero in his support of making medical marijuana available to Florida Residents.  Most of the money spent in the legalization movement has come from him personally.

Due in large part to Mr. Morgan’s involvement in our last election 71% of Florida’s voters voted “yes” on legalizing medical marijuana and it became added to our state constitution.

However as has been happening all over our country Florida Legislatures have forgotten that they are in Tallahassee to perform the will of the people and are trying every way they can think of to stop this State Constitutional Amendment.  Mr. Morgan is our champion in the fight to stop this movement. . . . A Letter from John Morgan ESQ. to your editor Dennis Crenshaw Dated 7/6/17

Dennis,

Today, I am filing a lawsuit to overturn the state’s ban on smoking medical marijuana, which everyone knows is in direct contradiction to the constitutional amendment we passed.

The ban is unconstitutional, and as promised, we are going to take it to the courts and win.

Getting anything passed through the legislature, as you know, was an accomplishment. Tallahassee politicians often forget who the they are working for.

I know who I am working for: The patients and all of you who have fought with us for years to make sure those patients have access to the medicine they need.

Now, thanks to our collective efforts, most patients will get that access via certain types of marijuana. But it’s not enough and not everything the voters passed.

So we start the new fight today in the courts. And we will continue to fight anywhere and any place where the will of the voters is attempting to be side-railed or ignored.

We are unified in this fight and we will bring our cause to a complete and unasterisked victory soon.

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard Moves To END Federal Prohibition Of Marijuana!

According to a recent post here on THEI we reported that a General Social Survey found that almost 60% of Americans believe that Marijuana should be legalized.  If you are one of those majority of our citizens I urge you to contact your Congressperson and demand that they support Congresswoman Gabbard  and Congressman Garret on this important issue. Tell them you support HR1227.

 It is the liquor and medical industry lobbyist who spend million of dollars to stop this movement that we are fighting.  Even if you are against recreational marijuana you must see the ridiculousness of keeping it a Schedule 1 classification which still means they are saying that it “has no medical benefits” and makes it illegal to even study the plant to find further medical uses, which I an sure there are many.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions wants to bring back the war on drugs, but on medical marijuana — which he says “has been hyped, maybe too much” — he may be too late.

Any minute now, medical marijuana will be legal in West Virginia. West Virginia! It’s a state that voted for Trump by nearly 42 points in November, and approved medical marijuana via its Republican legislature last week. Democratic Gov. Jim Justice (D) is open to signing it.

And West Virginia is on the tail end of the medical marijuana trend. Half the population of the country, spread out among some 28 states and the District of Columbia, can legally smoke some form marijuana for medical purposes. All but three states legalize some part of the drug found in the cannabis plant for medical cause (mostly the compound cannabidiol, which research suggests doesn’t get people high but can help with anxiety and pain). . . . Hip Hop legends Layzie Bone of super rap group Bone Thugs, and Harmony, and fellow Mo Thugs artist Thin C give major props to the late Jack Herer who wrote the book “The Emperor Wears No Clothes.” If you are not familiar with Jack Herer I suggest you check out the video below this one.

 

The Emperor Wears No Clothes is a book written by Jack Herer. Starting in 1973, Jack Herer took the advice of his friend “Captain” Ed Adair and began compiling tidbits of information about cannabis and its numerous uses. After a dozen years of collecting and compiling historical data, Herer first published his work as The Emperor Wears No Clothes in 1985. The eleventh edition was published in November 2000, and the book continues to be cited in cannabis rescheduling and re-legalization efforts.

The book, backed by H.E.M.P. (America), Hanf Haus (Germany), Sensi Seeds/Hash, Marihuana & Hemp Museum, Amsterdam, (Netherlands), and T.H.C., the Texas Hemp Campaign (America), offers $100,000 to anyone who can disprove the claims made within. Quoting from the book’s back cover:

“If all fossil fuels and their derivatives, as well as trees for paper and construction were banned in order to save the planet, reverse the Greenhouse Effect and stop deforestation; then there is only one known annually renewable natural resource that is capable of providing the overall majority of the world’s paper and textiles; meet all of the world’s transportation, industrial and home energy needs, while simultaneously reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil, and cleaning the atmosphere all at the same time… and that substance is — the same one that did it all before — Cannabis Hemp… Marijuana! . . . Jack Herer The Emperor Wears No Clothes

The title of the book alludes to the classic fairy tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes” by Hans Christian Andersen. Herer uses Andersen’s story as an allegory for the current prohibition of cannabis.

European experts on hemp, like Dr. Hayo M.G. van der Werf author of the doctoral thesis Crop physiology of fibre hemp (1994), criticized the book for containing some inaccuracies.

UPDATE: Why Businessman, Politician Support Pot (Video Report)

I think I’ll weigh in on that. Why would someone with so much money and power be willing to go out on a limb and tell the world  that he plans on putting up millions with aims of building a worldwide outlet for a substance that can not be sold over most of the world legally. Is he crazy?   Is he having ‘high’ pipe dreams? Does he know something we don’t?

I believe the answer is none of the above. I just thank he has done his home work. After all, the major argument for the rationalization for making the  possession etc. of the hemp plant a felony with long prison sentences is the claim that “There is no medical benefit for the drug.”

With 19 states, and more talking about making medical marijuana legal that no longer holds true.  And when you throw in the fact that the Federal Government has been supplying patients with medical marijuana since the 1970’s, a good lawyer can tear the government’s argument out by the roots! 

And without that argument the whole conspiracy against hemp will fall like a row of dominoes. . . . EDITOR
