Demonstrators gathered outside of the White House on Thursday to advocate for the classification of internet service providers as “common carriers,” ensuring net neutrality. The protest comes as the Federal Communication Commission is considering new rules that would allow ISPs to charge content providers for faster connections, which many fear will allow the corporate giants to quash the internet as we know it. RT’s Manuel Rapolo speaks to several attendees to learn more.
Protesters flooding the streets of Hong Kong are using a new app called “FireChat” to communicate with other demonstrators. Able to continue operating whether cellular or internet connections are available, the “mesh” technology behind the software allows users to circumvent government efforts to impede civil disobedience. RT’s Ameera David takes a look.
Dallas Co., Texas sheriff’s deputies, under federal control during special events, violently charged a peaceful crowd who were waiting to be let into the Dealey Plaza when it was promised to be open to the public at 2:30pm on Nov. 22, the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination. . . . Monsanto hires infamous mercenary firm Blackwater to track activists around the world
(NaturalNews) Remember the private mercenary army Blackwater that caused such a stir in Iraq during an unprovoked attack in 2007? Apparently, Monsanto and the controversial security firm are in bed together, described by blogger Randy Ananda as “a death-tech firm weds a hit squad.” At this point, you might be wondering what in the world the GM seed giant needs with the services of a ‘shadow army’? It appears as though the corporation found it necessary to contract with Blackwater in order to collect intelligence on anti-Monsanto activists as well infiltrate their ranks. . . . A report by Jeremy Scahill in The Nation (Blackwater’s Black Ops, 9/15/2010) revealed that the largest mercenary army in the world, Blackwater (now called Xe Services) clandestine intelligence services was sold to the multinational Monsanto. Blackwater was renamed in 2009 after becoming famous in the world with numerous reports of abuses in Iraq, including massacres of civilians. It remains the largest private contractor of the U.S. Department of State “security services,” that practices state terrorism by giving the government the opportunity to deny it. . . . Protesters across the US are joining the worldwide rally against biotech giant Monsanto and genetically engineered crops. The mass protest comes shortly after the Senate turned down a bill that would allow states to require the labeling of GM foods –
RT’s Anastasia Churkina reports from New York City.
On Tuesday the advocacy group Partnership for Civil Justice Fund released new documents that show the Department of Homeland Security is conducting surveillance on peaceful protest groups, like Occupy Wall Street. DHS is claiming it has every right to keep track on peaceful demonstrators, but critics say it’s an abuse of their power.
According to the documents it turns out, DHS has been spying on peaceful, law abiding citizens since 2006, and they say it’s legal. For more Michael Brooks a producer for The Majority Report joins us.

Did Chemtrails Cause Hurricane Isaac to Change Course?
Los Angeles Times
August 27, 2012
WASHINGTON – Emergency officials breathed a sigh of relief as the center of Tropical Storm Isaac moved past Tampa and the site of the Republican National Convention, but planners ramped up preparations in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast as the storm appeared to gather strength and march toward Louisiana and Mississippi.
The National Weather Service said the New Orleans could be in the path of the storm, which is projected to become a Category 1 hurricane by the time it makes landfall on the Gulf Coast late Monday or early Tuesday.
Evacuations were underway in some coastal communities in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama on Monday.
No evacuation order has been issued for New Orleans at this time, said a homeland security official. But internal homeland security reports indicate that residents in the low-lying Ninth Ward in New Orleans have largely “self-evacuated.” v. . . Read Complete Report
It looks like Issac was shifted just enough to pour buckets of rain on Tampa just as the convention was scheduled to open.
The protesters of our out-of-control government are expected to descend on Tampa Florida in record number for the Republican National Convention scheduled to start yesterday.
If Issac could be controlled just enough to pass to the west of Tampa, but cause very heavy rainfaill the convention goers would not be discouraging from coming to Tampa, after all the convention is being held indoors. But with the protesters it is a different story. . . the protests would be held outside. As the Controllers know most of the protesters must pay their own way to Tampa and live outside in tents and make shift covering. The main strategy in the case of Manipulating Issac was to discourage protesters from going down due to the rainy weather. And it may have worked… time will tell.
A secondary goal could be to test the rebuilt New Orleans levee system.
