Obama Administration Sues North Carolina over Voter ID Law (+) SUES TEXAS OVER VOTER ID LAW (Video Reports)

It might be better if Eric Holder spent more time cleaning up the rogue NSA than trying to keep the individual States from insuring the ‘one citizen – one vote’ law. North Carolina is demanding that voters identify themselves with proper ID at the polls.   Holder clams it would be a problem for poor people and ‘people of color’ to get an ID. Yet, the same people who Eric Holder says would be placed under a hard-ship to get an ID to vote must present 2 IDs to receive food stamps and other government hand-outs and they don’t seem to have a problem getting those services.  Lets face it, in today’s troubled times we need to know who is voting just as well as we need to know who is buying a pack of cigarettes at the local 7-11.

It’s actually a no brainer why this administration is fighting to try and keep voters from identifying themselves… if IDs were required illegal aliens and the election liberal zombies (those who vote more than once and those dirt-nap voters famous for getting out of their graves on election day and heading for the polls) wouldn’t be able to stuff the ballot box with the votes needed to elect people who’s agenda is the One World Order. . . . The Justice Department is suing North Carolina for alleged racial discrimination over its tough new voting rules, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Monday. “By restricting access and ease of voter participation, this new law would shrink, rather than expand, access” to voting, Holder said at a news conference. “Allowing limits on voting rights that disproportionately exclude minority voters would be inconsistent with our ideals as a nation.” The lawsuit is the latest effort by the Obama administration to counter a Supreme Court decision that struck down the most powerful part of the landmark Voting Rights Act and freed states, many of them in the South, from strict federal oversight of their elections. . . . CASE DETAIL

“Remember the Alamo!” The famous battle cry was immortalized in history. But for some, the full story of the Alamo has yet to be told. Legend has it that in the shadow of the Alamo’s old mission, a treasure remains buried, a secret which dates back to 1836, the year of the famous battle. That January, a group of rugged frontiersmen made their way across southern Texas. By some accounts, they were loaded down with a fortune in silver and gold. It was called the “San Saba Treasure,” and it’s said to be worth millions of dollars.

The men, led by Colonel Jim Bowie, were headed for the Alamo. The treasure was intended to finance the Texas revolution for independence from Mexico. Two months later, Bowie and 188 other men, including Davy Crockett, made a courageous stand at the Alamo against 6,000 well-trained Mexican troops. Not one of the defenders survived to tell the tale, but the legend of the treasure lived on. . . .  Read Complete Report

The Lost San Saba Mines

Since the 1700’s, stories of abandoned or lost Spanish mines and buried treasure in San Saba and adjacent counties have fired the imaginations of thousands of treasure seekers. The following items, from the San Saba News, convey well the excitement these stories generated around the turn of the century .

San Saba Mines. June 24, 1887.

Mr. A. Fitzgerald, a capitalist of Mexico, who has experience as a miner, has purchased of Mr. Rufe Hoover of Hoover’s Valley, 640 acres of land for which he paid $10,000. He says the signs of gold and silver are very promising. A specimen of the silver ore may be seen at his office.

In personal interview with Mr. Fitzgerald, he informs us that he has 45 years experience as a miner, and he believes his purchase will realize millions of dollars. That the specimens indicate rich gold and silver both; that the veins being fissure veins are inexhaustible. He thinks, are at least two miles long. The purchased land is mountainous, and about 14 miles southwest of Burnet. Mr. Fitzgerald has a partner whose interest is one fourth. He will return next week with an eminent French chemist, and will begin operations soon thereafter as possible.. . . Read Complete Report

Texas: Activists Say Lone Star State Moving Towards Marijuana Legalization

By Steve Elliott

Hemp News

Optimism is a good thing, don’t you think? Some activists say FBI crime statistics will help move Texas closer to legalizing marijuana.

Mason Tvert of the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) points to new crime stats showing African Americans, while only making up about 12 percent of Texas’ population, are arrested far more often than whites for marijuana possession, reports CBS DFW.

“There is no logical reason why law enforcement officials should be spending their time arresting and prosecuting adults simply for possessing a product that is objectively less harmful than alcohol,” Tvert said. . . . Read Complete report

Marijuana Legalization Could Come to Texas, and Law Students are Helping Figure How

Rehman Bhalesha was raised around marijuana. That’s not to say that he dealt, or that he pushed, or that he used. He didn’t have to. Weed, growing up, turned up wherever he went.

“Living in South Texas, you really see the substance flood high school and college campuses and neighborhoods, without any regulation, in a completely illicit market,” Bhalesha, set to be a third-year student at the South Texas College of Law, told Hair Balls. “I’ve spent my entire life seeing a strong need [for regulation].” . . . From the Smoking Gun JUNE 7, 2013

JUNE 7–A high-tech computer system that captures images of  “every mail piece that is processed” by the United State Postal Service was critical in helping federal agents track the Texas woman arrested today for allegedly sending ricin-tainted letters to President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

In a U.S. District Court complaint filed today against Shannon Guess Richardson, an FBI agent details how investigators traced the ricin letters back to NewBoston, Texas, where the 35-year-old Richardson (seen below) lives with her husband. . . .  Read Complete Report
