Texas: Activists Say Lone Star State Moving Towards Marijuana Legalization

By Steve Elliott

Hemp News

Optimism is a good thing, don’t you think? Some activists say FBI crime statistics will help move Texas closer to legalizing marijuana.

Mason Tvert of the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) points to new crime stats showing African Americans, while only making up about 12 percent of Texas’ population, are arrested far more often than whites for marijuana possession, reports CBS DFW.

“There is no logical reason why law enforcement officials should be spending their time arresting and prosecuting adults simply for possessing a product that is objectively less harmful than alcohol,” Tvert said. . . . Read Complete report

Marijuana Legalization Could Come to Texas, and Law Students are Helping Figure How

Rehman Bhalesha was raised around marijuana. That’s not to say that he dealt, or that he pushed, or that he used. He didn’t have to. Weed, growing up, turned up wherever he went.

“Living in South Texas, you really see the substance flood high school and college campuses and neighborhoods, without any regulation, in a completely illicit market,” Bhalesha, set to be a third-year student at the South Texas College of Law, told Hair Balls. “I’ve spent my entire life seeing a strong need [for regulation].” . . . I’m glad they caught her, but the method used is just another peek at our ever  increasing government’s “Big Bro” system of spying on American’s. Scary stuff. . . . EDITOR

From the Smoking Gun JUNE 7, 2013

JUNE 7–A high-tech computer system that captures images of  “every mail piece that is processed” by the United State Postal Service was critical in helping federal agents track the Texas woman arrested today for allegedly sending ricin-tainted letters to President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

In a U.S. District Court complaint filed today against Shannon Guess Richardson, an FBI agent details how investigators traced the ricin letters back to NewBoston, Texas, where the 35-year-old Richardson (seen below) lives with her husband. . . .  Read Complete Report

Scales of Justice SOURCE pdphoto.org Public DomainArmed with a tattered law book and a pair of six-shooters, the legendary Judge Roy Bean doled out a peculiar form of frontier justice in a lawless section of far West Texas during the last half of the 19th century. Photographs show a tough, grizzled old geezer in a dusty black coat. Tales from the life of the manipulative magistrate bridge the gap between horror and amusement.

Before he mounted the judicial bench in Texas, Roy Bean served as a California Ranger with a penchant for stealing the hearts of San Diego señoritas. One such amorous episode nearly cost him his life. With Bean in the saddle, a jealous suitor and others got the jump on Bean, strung him up to a poplar tree, urged his horse out from under him and left the scene. Unseen, the señorita dashed from her hiding place to cut Bean down. He was alive and kicking, but spent the rest of his life with a stiff neck. . . . Read Complete Report

Cops Investigating 19 Year Veteran Police Officer In Texas DA Murders (Video Report)

We don’t usually follow murder cases here on THEI.  But I have a hunch about this one that has nothing to do with the official cover-story of Aryan Brotherhood revenge.

It’s something else . . I can’t put my finger on it… just a hunch.  So for now I’m gonna keep an eyeball on the on-going reports and maybe sniff around a little. . . . EDITOR
