The Five Eyes surveillance cabal, established at the end of World War 2, includes the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. The agreement covers how intelligence is shared. And that’s about all we know about it.
Description: Abby Martin takes a closer look at a recent NSA leak which links the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand as an international intelligence partnership focused on surveillance of each other’s citizens.
Is The Five Eyes Alliance watching you? – Truthloader
Edward Snowden’s whistleblowing has revealed the secret snooping conducted by the NSA, GCHQ and other western intelligence agencies. But this sort of signal intelligence sharing goes back way further than you might think – Truthloader looked into The Five Eyes Alliance (the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) and another secret project named ECHELON.
In 1992, Jim Gray, a conservative judge in conservative Orange County, California, held a press conference during which he recommended that we rethink our drug laws. Back then, it took a great deal of courage to suggest that the war on drugs was a failed policy.

“THE FIGHT AGAINST legalized pot is being heavily bankrolled by alcohol and pharmaceutical companies, terrified that they might lose market share.
On the heels of a filing last week that revealed that a synthetic cannabis company is financing the opposition to legal marijuana in Arizona comes a new disclosure this week that a beer industry group made one of the largest donations to an organization set up to defeat legalization in Massachusetts.
The Beer Distributors PAC, an affiliate that represents 16 beer-distribution companies in Massachusetts, gave $25,000 to the Campaign for a Safe and Healthy Massachusetts, tying it for third place among the largest contributors to the anti-pot organization.”

Although when I first found out about the close ties between Facebook and the passing of information to the CIA, FBI etc. I started to delete my Facebook account altogether, I changed my mind. After all, if its a good enough source of information for those against the constitution and freedom it’s also a good source for those of us involved in the Education Revolution. But with the untimely death of programmer and activist Aaron Swartz, this isn’t just a sentiment; it’s literally true. Worthy, important causes will surface without a champion equal to their measure. Technological problems will go unsolved, or be solved a little less brilliantly than they might have been. And that’s just what we know. The world is robbed of a half-century of all the things we can’t even imagine Aaron would have accomplished with the remainder of his life.
Aaron Swartz committed suicide Friday in New York. [ This has not been proven to everyone’s satisfaction yet. . . THEI EDITOR] He was 26 years old.
When he was 14 years old, Aaron helped develop the RSS standard; he went on to found Infogami, which became part of Reddit. But more than anything Aaron was a coder with a conscience: a tireless and talented hacker who poured his energy into issues like network neutrality, copyright reform and information freedom. Among countless causes, he worked with Larry Lessig at the launch of the Creative Commons, architected the Internet Archive’s free public catalog of books, OpenLibrary.org, and in 2010 founded Demand Progress, a non-profit group that helped drive successful grassroots opposition to SOPA last year. . . .
