In 1991 the Bigalow Holding Company commissioned the highly respected Roper Organization to survey adult Americans to find out how many were interested in UFO phenomenon. The Report, "Unusual Personal Experiences: an Analysis of the Data from Three National Surveys", was so exact that the survey's "margin of error" was only plus or minus 1.4%. So we can feel safe using the numbers reportedly found in these surveys in this report. When asked the question, "Have you ever seen a UFO?" The survey found that 7% of the Americans surveyed answered yes, they had seen a UFO. Do the math. 7% of 185 million (United States population, 1990 figures) = 12.95 million American adults have seen a UFO.

If this 7% holds true worldwide, and I see no evidence to prove it wouldn't, the figures become even more staggering. According to 1990 figures the world's population is 5 billion 332 million 824 thousand. Using the 7% findings we find that 372,597,750 people worldwide have seen a UFO. How many more witnesses do we need before we accept the fact that UFOs do exist?

"Well," says the skeptic, "all this might be true, but there is still the possibility that, to put it delicately, all of these witnesses might have a screw loose or at least, a vivid imagination".

"Not so", says a study undertaken by five top psychologists. The study, Close Encounters: an Examination of UFO Experiences which was published in the November 1993 issue of the Journal of Abnormal Psychology reported that those of us who have seen a UFO are just as intelligent and psychologically happy as those who haven't had the experience. According to the authors of the report: Our findings clearly contradict the previously held notions that people who seem to have bizarre experiences, such as missing time and communicating with aliens, have wild imaginations and are easily swayed into believing the unbelievable.
Another argument in favor of our witnesses is the fact that they come from all walks of life. If any one of these witnesses testified in court that they had seen a gun in a murder's hand - even though the gun had not been found - the jury would most probably believe them. Those who come forward and report seeing strange objects in the sky should be given the same consideration. They saw what they say they saw. Period.
