NASA mulls plan to drag asteroid into moon’s orbit

from New Scientist

15:15 02 January 2013 by Jeff Hecht

Who says NASA has lost interest in the moon? Along with rumours of a hovering lunar base, there are reports that the agency is considering a proposal to capture an asteroid and drag it into the moon’s orbit.

Researchers with the Keck Institute for Space Studies in California have confirmed that NASA is mulling over their plan to build a robotic spacecraft to grab a small asteroid and place it in high lunar orbit. The mission would cost about $2.6 billion – slightly more than NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover – and could be completed by the 2020s. . . . Read Complete Report

NASA Announces That Magnetic Portals Do Exist!

Star-gates, magnetic portals, vortexes in space: Science fiction writers have given the concept of extraordinary openings in space/time all sorts of names to explain how travelers from far distant realms of space, time or both, arrive in Earth skies. However, this is a science fiction ploy to enable a good story, is it not?

It turns out that they do exist although the discovery is said to be in its infancy. A NASA-funded researcher at the University of Iowa has figured outhow to find them. Yes, some people feel this is old news to the “breakaway civilization” of elite humans who have been to Mars and beyond; even the more skeptical of us, wonder if these amazing facts are just now being released by the government but that they have known about them, even used them for years, perhaps with in-put and assistance from cooperating aliens. . . . Spidery black objects on Mars surface raise speculation

Someone alert Ziggy Stardust, there appear to be spiders on Mars.

Strange black objects seen from 200 miles above the surface of Mars are generating interest and speculation that the unidentified objects could be anything from geysers to sunbathing colonies of microorganisms.

NPR presents several photos of the objects, including one taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on Jan. 27, 2010, that appears to show “little black flecks dotting the ridges, mostly on the sunny side, like sunbathing spiders sitting in rows.” . . . Read Complete Report

On Wednesday, NASA’s unmanned Mars rover Curiosity passed another milestone. Having traversed 358 feet (109 m), the 4X4-sized, nuclear-powered explorer is one-quarter of the way from Bradbury landing to it’s first major destination, Glenelg. Now that Curiosity’s mobility system has had the bugs shaken out of it, it’s the arm’s turn to take center stage. Curiosity will spend the next six to ten days testing its seven-foot (2.1 m) arm and the set of tools that make up its “hand.” . . . Read Complete Report w/ slide show

NASA‘s Curiosity rover is really beginning to pay off. Since setting up its high-definition cameras, the Mars rover has been sending back amazing views of the fourth planet. Now NASA has assembled a high-quality panorama of the Martian surface, and the results are stunning.

The 360-degree view of Mars shows off Curiosity’s surroundings in Gale Crater, and gives a splendid view of Mount Sharp, the rover’s ultimate target in its mission. . . . Read Complete Report

MARS REPORTING: Chemcam Laser First Analyzes Yield Beautiful Results (w/video)

Los Alamos NM (SPX) Aug 24, 201

Members of the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover ChemCam team, including Los Alamos National Laboratory scientists, squeezed in a little extra target practice after zapping the first fist-sized rock that was placed in the laser’s crosshairs last weekend. Much to the delight of the scientificteam, the laser instrument has fired nearly 500 shots so far that have produced strong, clear data about the composition of the Martian surface.

“The spectrum we have received back from Curiosity is as good as anything we looked at on Earth,” said Los Alamos National Laboratory planetary scientist Roger Wiens, Principal Investigator of the ChemCam Team. “The entire MSL team was very excited about this and we popped a little champagne. . . . A Hole In Mars

from The Black Vault

07.20.2012

Once again evidence that the planets are cavernous and the probable home of any life is where we have been speculating it was for the past 50 years – INSIDE the planets. . . EDITOR

“Explanation: What created this unusual hole in Mars? The hole was discovered by chance on images of the dusty slopes of Mars’ Pavonis Mons volcano taken by the HiRISE instrument aboard the robotic Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter currently circling Mars. The hole appears to be an opening to an underground cavern, partly illuminated on the image right. Analysis of this and follow-up images revealed the opening to be about 35 meters across, while the interior shadow angle indicates that the underlying cavern is roughly 20 meters deep. Why there is a circular crater surrounding this hole remains a topic of speculation, as is the full extent of the underlying cavern. Holes such as this are of particular interest because their interior caves are relatively protected from the harsh surface of Mars, making them relatively good candidates to contain Martian life. These pits are therefore prime targets for possible future spacecraft, robots, and even human interplanetary explorers.” . . . from The Black Vault

Andy Basiago – Life on Mars whistleblower or crackpot?

January 16, 2012. Michael E. Salla, Ph.D.

Andy Basiago first emerged into public life four years ago with sensational claims of discovering life on Mars. He wrote a White Paper in 2008 with his analysis of Mars Rover images which he claimed were conclusive proof of life of Mars and a NASA controlled cover up. Later Basiago publicly declared his participation as a child in Project Pegasus, a DARPA funded project which tested advanced technologies using children. Among these technologies was what Basiago described as “jump room” technology. This allowed the instantaneous transport through time and space. Among the places Basiago claimed to have visited is Mars. There he saw a dinosaur roving the Martian surface hungry for food – human residents lost on the surface being a delicacy for such beasts according to Basiago. Basiago’s most recent claims are even more sensational. President Obama back in 1980 was also part of the Mars program and even got to travel to Mars. Is Basiago genuinely blowing the whistle on Mars or a crackpot seeking attention? . . . read complete report

Physicist Wal Thornhill: Jupiter is Hollow

Jupiter’s Formation in the Electric Universe | Space News

Published on Jul 8, 2017

Today, physicist Wal Thornhill concludes his three-part presentation on the early science results from NASA’s Juno mission to the gas giant Jupiter. As previously noted, like countless other recent space discoveries, the mission findings are challenging not only long-held assumptions about Jupiter, but also consensus theories of planet and star formation, and the history of our solar system. On the question of Jupiter’s internal structure and composition, Thornhill offered the provocative thesis that Jupiter is hollow. Complete Report
