The Fort Worth, Texas, police chief has apologized for an operation that pulled drivers to the side of the road and asked them for breath, blood, and saliva samples for a federal research project on driving while impaired.

But the $7.9 million project, headed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is far from over, with similar police stops slated next year at about 300 sites in 60 cities around the nation. . . . Read Complete Report
