Cuba Libre Updates: The Blockade; Migration

For the record, I seldom agree with anything the UN does. In fact I am against the UN period. But when they do something right I’ll admit that also.  I am 100% against the blockade of Cuba. It hasn’t hurt the Castro Brothers.  It’s time this unjust bullying policy against the people of Cuba ends. . . EDITOR

Again, UN General Assembly rejects U.S anti-Cuban blockade

The United Nations General Assembly voted Oct. 28 for the 23rd consecutive year on a Cuba resolution calling upon the United States to end its economic blockade against the island. The results highlight U.S. isolation in the diplomatic community; 188 UN nations voted “Yes,” and only two, the United States and Israel, rejected the resolution. . . Read Complete Report

Cuban ‘exodus’ blamed on failed reforms

Despite a marked increase in Cubans arriving by sea off South Florida, the U.S. Coast Guard says it does not anticipate a Mariel boatlift-type of crisis any time soon.

Between the 2,059 Cubans stopped at sea trying to land on shore and the more than 800 who actually made it here, there has been a 75 percent increase in attempted and successful migration from last fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30. . . . Read Complete Report
