$2.4M in counterfeit items, 4 pounds of pot seized
If you pay $40 for a $250 pair of jeans, there’s a good chance you aren’t getting the real thing.
The same goes for many of the knock-off sneakers, purses and clothes being sold at Metro Mart USA in southwest Atlanta, according to police. And there was more than high-priced sneakers, purses and clothes being sold in the market.
Vendors were also allegedly selling marijuana — some of it in plain view on the counter, Lt. Scott Kreher with Atlanta police said Tuesday. . . . Read Complete Report

Blacks Are Singled Out for Marijuana Arrests
Black Americans were nearly four times as likely as whites to be arrested on charges of marijuana possession in 2010, even though the two groups used the drug at similar rates, according to new federal data.
This disparity had grown steadily from a decade before, and in some states, including Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois, blacks were around eight times as likely to be arrested. During the same period, public attitudes toward marijuana softened and a number of states decriminalized its use. But about half of all drug arrests in 2011 were on marijuana-related charges, roughly the same portion as in 2010. . . . Read Complete Report

New York General Assembly approves medical marijuana bill
The New York General Assembly yesterday approved a bill allowing medical marijuana use in the Empire State.
Assembly Bill 6357 was voted in with a 95-38 vote. The discussion now moves over to the state Senate in the next few weeks, which takes up the nearly identical Senate Bill 4406. If approved, the bill would allow for qualifying patients to receive a doctor’s recommendation to use cannabis. Patients would be allowed to possess up to 2.5 ounces purchased at one of several state-regulated medical marijuana dispensaries.Overwhelmingly, New Yorkers favor medical marijuana legislation. A recent Sienna Research Institute Poll showed that 82 percent of voters agree that physicians should be able to recommend cannabis. . . . Read Complete Report

Louisiana bill removing marijuana from three-strikes laws, lessening penalties approved by House
An amended version of a bill that would end Louisiana’s draconian three-strikes law for some marijuana crimes has finally made its way through the house.
But it could be a tight squeeze to get the bill through. The Louisiana Senate adjourns next week, leaving little time to have the bill heard, debated and voted on before the politicians leave Baton Rouge for the year House Bill 103, which we’ve written about in the past, originally would have capped felony marijuana conviction sentences at five years. That version failed to clear the House floor last week, so authors amended it to make the penalties a little more harsh. . . . Read Complete Report

Marijuana Law Enforcement Cost States An Estimated $3.6 Billion In 2010: ACLU
States together spent somewhere around $3.6 billion enforcing marijuana possession laws in 2010, according to a new study by the American Civil Liberties Union, entitled “The War On Marijuana In Black and White.” That’s the authors’ “best estimate,” though approximations using different methodologies put the cost as high as $6 billion and as low as $1.2 billion.
The paper grabbed headlines Tuesday with its finding that blacks are nearly four times as likely as whites to be arrested for possessing marijuana, despite both races using the drug at about the same rate.
Here are some most startling numbers from the ACLU’s report with regards to the cost of enforcing marijuana laws: . . . Read Complete Report

A Florida man who went hunting for pythons in Florida’s Everglades returned instead with a mysterious treasure: an antique, diamond-studded gold medallion that could date back to the 17th century.
How the handmade, penny-sized amulet got there is a riddle. One theory is it could have been aboard a ValuJet plane that crashed nearby in May 1996 – or that perhaps it was part of the debris field from an Eastern Airlines crash in the same area in 1972. The fact that it is partially melted on one side could support that idea. . . . Read Complete Report with photos.

With advice from former CIA operatives and lawyers, Disney bought up the land for Florida’s Disney World and orchestrated a unique legal situation—and set up an unconstitutional form of government.
An excerpt from T.D. Allman’s Finding Florida.
Starting in the mid-1960s when Disney set out to establish the Disney World Theme Park, they were determined to get land at below market prices and Disney operatives engaged in a far-ranging conspiracy to make sure sellers had no idea who was buying their Central Florida property. By resorting to such tactics Disney acquired more than 40 square miles of land for less than $200 an acre, but how to maintain control once Disney’s empire had been acquired? The solution turned out to be cartoon-simple, thanks to the CIA. . . . Read Complete Report

Dig a Little DEEPER: Medical Marijuana
Ever since I begin researching the Earth’s Underground Realms back in the 1970’s I have been following reports of these BOOMS, hums, banging, etc (noises) from around the word.
The first reference to these BOOMS that I found; strange humming noises occurring in the British Isles back in the mid-1950’s. Even back then they knew the origin of these disturbances – underground. Yet, you hardly ever hear that mentioned on main stream TV. Other possibilities sky, space.
I personally believe that what is being heard are construction noises from the subterranean lairs of the Controllers. The fact that these sounds are coming from underground seems to be Forgotten Knowledge when it comes to educating “we the people.”
Or is that underground fact just being ignored by the Controllers media for obvious reasons ? . . . Editor

Top ten hemp legends: Which myths are true — and which went up in smoke?
By Melanie Asmar Mon., Mar. 18 2013 at 9:50 AM
Did Henry Ford really make a car out of hemp? Was the Declaration of Independence written on hemp paper? Did Abraham Lincoln use hemp oil in his lamps?
The hemp plant, a variety of Cannabis sativa that’s the subject of this week’s cover story “Green Acres,” is steeped in lore. Some hemp legends are true. Others are half-true, and some are completely false. Here, we present ten hemp myths culled from the Internet — and attempt to separate the fact from the fiction.
