Online petitions seek to free Montana medical marijuana grower

Chris Williams operated a completely legal medical marijuana dispensary in Montana, where he has complied with all of the local and state regulations, as crazy and ridiculous as they are.

In the past law enforcement representatives have even been through the dispensary; during their encounters they been nothing but friendly and openly approved of what was going on.

Despite the local legalization measures, in March 2011 federal agents raided a whole list of medical marijuana dispensaries throughout the state of Montana, including the one owned by Williams. . . . Read Complete Report

DEA Promises to Continue Drug War and Ignore Voter Decisions in Colorado and Washington

Voters in Colorado and Washington have decided to legalize cannabis for recreational use, however the feds have promised to ignore states rights and lock people up anyway, regardless of local laws.

Bob Tuskin reported on the story for The Intel Hub this morning, saying that

“Both Colorado and Washington have passed referendums legalizing cannabis use. The plant is still made illegal according to federal law.

“Colorado’s Proposition 64 makes it legal for anyone over the age of 21 to possess marijuana and for businesses to sell it.  It will be interesting to see how the feds treat this.

Is all the recent talk of secession mere sour grapes over the election, or perhaps something deeper?   Currently there are active petitions in support of secession for all 50 states, with Texas taking the lead in number of signatures.  Texas has well over the number of signatures needed to generate a response from the administration, and while I wouldn’t hold my breath on Texas actually seceding, I believe these petitions raise a lot of worthwhile questions about the nature of our union.
Is it treasonous to want to secede from the United States?  Many think the question of secession was settled by our Civil War.  On the contrary; the principles of self-governance and voluntary association are at the core of our founding.  Clearly Thomas Jefferson believed secession was proper, albeit as a last resort. Hacktivist group Anonymous has announced it will take down Facebook and release Zynga’s games for free download on 5 November if the latter does not backtrack on alleged plans to lay off 1,000 employees and outsource work.

News of the Guy Fawkes Night attack, #OP MaZynga, came a week after online gaming giant Zynga announced a five percent employee cull and the closure of its Boston office — employees at its Austin branch were given two hours to clean out their desks while the world’s attention was distracted by Apple’s iPad mini unveiling on 23 October. Zynga also indicated its British and Japanese offices might close, and there are plans to switch maintenance of The Ville to its India base. U.S. Spy Satellite Agency Gives NASA 2 Space Telescopes

The United States’ spy satellite agency is giving NASA two spare space telescopes free of charge, each potentially more powerful than the Hubble Space Telescope, NASA officials announced today (June 4).
