Here’s another article destined for our “Robots replacing Humans” archive. . . EDITOR

From Science Daily

May 24, 2013 — Robots could become a lot more ‘sensitive’ thanks to new artificial skins and sensor technologies developed by European scientists. Leading to better robotic platforms that could one day be used in industry, hospitals and even at home.

The new capabilities, and a production system for building touch-sensitivity into different robots, will improve the way robots work in unconstrained settings, as well as their ability to communicate and cooperate with each other and with humans. . . . Read Complete Report

Retro ~ October 17, 2012 : Government Releases More Declassified Flying Saucer Docs

Featured Image: Photo Cover of Project 1794. U.S Air Force secret plans to build a flying saucer in the 1950′s. CREDIT US Air Force SOURCE Wired magazine

From Popular Mechanics  October 17, 2012 at 4:25:00 PM by Joe Pappalardo

The staff at the National Declassification Center in College Park, Md., knew they found something interesting when they cracked open a cardboard box and saw cutaway schematics of flying saucers printed on the pages. The pages describe an Air Force flying saucer program that started in the mid-1950’s and ended in 1961. In the upper right hand of each page was the icon of a flying disc stamped over a red arrow, the insignia of Project 1794.

Last week, the NDC staff released a summary report from the project, dated 1956, and the global media went into a frenzy. The documents related to a flying saucer program by a Canadian firm, Avro Aircraft, that the U.S. military funded. Back then, the Air Force wanted a supersonic fighter while the Army wanted a flying jeep. In the end, after $10 million, the saucer was nothing more than a glorified, 18-ft-diameter hovercraft that lost control and stability after it rose above its 5 foot cushion of air. (It’s never a good idea to build an aircraft with an aerodynamic center far from its center of gravity.) . . . Read Complete Report w/link to complete Project 1794 file.

Border Wars Update: Obama’s Failed Border Policies Kill More People Per Day Then Firearms

President Obama‘s failing gun control campaign peppered the air waves with the slogan “If we can save just one life.”  However, when it comes to the estimated 17,000 annual deaths from illegal drugs flowing over our porous southern border with Mexico, the President is remarkably silent. President Obama’s four years of border control failures have led to the deaths of tens of thousands of American men, women and children.

The President does not have the legal power to legislate gun control for any purpose even if it sounds honorable. However, Obama does have a legal obligation to protect American citizens and secure the US borders. Since Obama took office, Mexican drug cartels have moved record loads of illegal drugs, relatively unencumbered, across the US southern border. The current year’s data is not available, but based upon 2010 data; these trafficked drugs have killed over twice as many Americans (over 17,000) as those taken in firearm homicides (8036). In fact, in 2010 there were more illicit drug use deaths in America then accidental non-lethal firearms shootings. . . . Read Complete Report

Obama Obscures Scandal With MORE Scandal!

Of course, the timing of the release of all of these scandals could be because of Obama’s up-coming ‘birther’ court cases.  As much as he, his administration, and Obama worshipers everywhere might wish the questions surrounding his documents go away, they haven’t. And maybe THAT is the one thing they want to cloud in the sheeple’s minds. . . . EDITOR

EXCERPTS:

. . . “Recently, the Obama administration has been mired in a sudden burst of scandals, the likes of which haven’t been seen in some time. First, there was the emergence of new evidence in the Benghazi cover-up. Then, there was the IRS scandal; involving the targeting of Conservative organizations. Now, there is yet another scandal involving the government seizing the phone records of the Associated Press.” . . .

. . .”With all of these major scandals looming–and presumably known to the President–a strategy had to be put together. With the help of the compliant media, I believe that the administration decided to leak all three major scandals at once in order to muddy the waters. It’s a classic misdirection: there are so many balls in the air at once, we have no idea where to look.” . . .

To be nice, robot rhetoric should be less precise

Baking cupcakes can be as much a matter of social interaction as it is a mechanical exercise. Never is this more true than when your kitchen partner is a robot. Their always-right, ego-deflating advice can be off-putting, reports social psychologistSara Kiesler and her colleagues from Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh. But having them employ a different type of rhetoric could help soften the blow.

In one study, Kiesler’s former student Cristen Torrey, now at Adobe, observed how expert bakers shared advice with less-experienced volunteers. She recorded the interactions and extracted a few different approaches the experts used. For instance, “likable people equivocate when they are giving help,” Kiesler says. That is, they say things such as “Maybe you can try X” rather than simply “Do X.” They also soften their advice with extraneous words such as “Well, so, you can try X.” . . Read Complete Report

Senators demand FISA to be more transparent (Video Report)

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act , or FISA which is a piece of legislations that allows the US government to monitor civilian phonecalls and interraction without a warrant has been up for debate in the Congress. Some congressmen took the turn discussing dangers of the act while another demanded to make it a little more transparent, which was turned down though. The bill hasn’t been well-received by privacy advocates either. RT’s Meghan Lopez has more.

More People Believe in UFOs Than God

from Gather News

An interesting survey done in the United Kingdon shows that more people believe in UFOs than they believe in God. About 33.1 million people believe that there’s intelligent life on other planets and less than half the country, about 17.5 million people, believes that there’s a God.

Making things even more interesting, according to Bedford Today, 52% of the population believe that there’s evidence of unidentified flying objects and that the proof is being covered up because the stability of the government would be threatened. . . . Read Complete Report
