Visit my website at http://www.junglejoel.com – astronomers observing a disc of gas and dust around the young star HD 100546, located 335 light-years from Earth, have discovered what seems to be a planet in the process of being formed. This protoplanet candidate is a gas giant, similar to Jupiter – though still embedded in the disc of material around the young star. This video animation is a hypothetical fly-through of the HD 100546 system. Please rate and comment, thanks!
