The Truth About Alaskan Glaciers

The Alaskan glaciers are retreating, so it must all be our fault.

Right? Well, maybe not.

Dr Bruce Molnia works with the US Geological Survey and has spent the last 40 years studying glaciers in Alaska. In 2008 he published “Glaciers of Alaska”, a hugely comprehensive and impressive volume which attempts to map and measure every single glacier in Alaska. This work forms Chapter 8 in the USGS publication “Satellite Image Atlas of Glaciers of the World”. Molnia’s main task was to put on record the current size and extent of these glaciers, rather than to analyse past changes to them.

“…we are making comparative judgments about the extent of today’s glaciers, that use as the “norm” the period when they were at or near their maximum for probably a millenium or more. Can this be sensible science?”

In Senate Testimony, 25 February, 2014

In eye-opening testimony before a Senate subcommittee, the co-founder of the environmental activist group Greenpeace refuted assertions that carbon dioxide emissions from human activity are responsible for global warming.

 
 
“There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years. If there were such a proof it would be written down for all to see. No actual proof, as it is understood in science, exists.”

EDITOR”S NOTE: While I agree with most of what Dr Moore said in his testimony, there is a far more intriguing question that should be considered: If the Earth (and all other bodies in the solar system) are in getting warmer – and they are – and no human actions are causing it, what is?

.My hypothesis that follows that posit is that all the solar system bodies are creating new heat energy (and maybe many, many more spectra of energy) and new matter all the time, connected to a universal background source of immense energy, a backbone, in the terms that networkers like to use. UN Takes Concrete Steps Toward Global Tax

In Doha, Qatar, late Saturday, delegates attending the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) took concrete steps toward a new global treaty to address global warming that will transform the economic structure of the world with a new global tax. To be completed by 2015, the UN expects every nation to implement it by 2020, even though the globe has not warmed for the past 16 years.

 

Next year the UNFCCC’s Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres will call a “significant number of meetings and workshops…to prepare the new agreement.” Then in 2014, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will “convene leaders to mobilize the political will to ensure the 2015 deadline is met.” . . .
