Edward Snowden, wanted by the United States for leaking extensive secrets of its electronic surveillance programmes, has been awarded Sweden’s Right Livelihood Honorary Award often referred to as the “Alternative Nobel Prize”.

With the US on the edge of war in the Middle East, according to Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg, the country needs the type of whistleblowers that didn’t exist during the Vietnam and Iraq wars. Speaking to RT’s Ameera David at the National Press Club, the famed activist warned about the increasing crackdown on whistleblowers, while calling for more Edward Snowdens and Chelsea Mannings to come forward.

WASHINGTON — We’ve yet to see the full impact of former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden’s unauthorized downloading of highly classified intelligence documents.
Among the roughly 1.7 million documents he walked away with — the vast majority of which have not been made public — are highly sensitive, specific intelligence reports, as well as current and historic requirements the White House has given the agency to guide its collection activities, according to a senior government official with knowledge of the situation.
The latter category involves about 2,000 unique taskings that can run to 20 pages each and give reasons for selective targeting to NSA collectors and analysts. These orders alone may run 31,500 pages. . . . Read Complete Report

You may remember the old adage, “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.” Most don’t know what it means since we’ve generally lost touch with the land and nature as a society, but when purchasing a horse the teeth are very important to check regarding the health, age and well being of the animal. Horses also often have identifying tattoos in their mouths.
The saying basically has come to mean, if something is a freely given gift, don’t inspect it.
Another of those “sayings” that’s used for social programming.
But what about the story of the Trojan horse? If they had looked in its mouth before letting it within the gates of the city they would have discovered it was filled with soldiers intent on conquering them.
