The electoral college is a time-honored, logical system for picking the chief executive of the United States. However, the American body politic has also grown accustomed to paying close attention to the popular vote. This is only rarely a problem, since the electoral college and the popular vote have only disagreed three times in 200 years. However, it’s obvious that reforms are needed.
The fundamental problem of the electoral college is that the states of the United States are too disparate in size and influence. The largest state is 66 times as populous as the smallest and has 18 times as many electoral votes. This allows for Electoral College results that don’t match the popular vote. To remedy this issue, the Electoral Reform Map redivides the fifty United States into 50 states of equal population. The 2010 Census records a population of 308,745,538 for the United States, which this map divides into 50 states, each with a population of about 6,175,000.1 . . . Read Complete Report w/large map
Representative Joseph Souki, Chair of the Hawaiian House Committee on Transportation and House Speaker Emeritus, hasintroduced legislation that would make Hawaii the third state to legalize and regulate the adult use of marijuana.
House Bill 150 would legalize the possession of up to an ounce or less of marijuana by adults over the age of 21, in addition to allowing for the licensing and regulation of marijuana retail stores, as well as cultivation and manufacturing centers.
Polling conducted this month by the ACLU of Hawaii found that 57% of Hawaiians support taxing and regulating marijuana and only 39% were opposed. . . . Read Complete Report

President Barack Obama pledged on Friday that he will not go after Washington state and Colorado for legalizing marijuana.
Obama was asked — in a Barbara Walters interview airing Friday on ABC — whether he supports making marijuana legal, reported The Associated Press. “I wouldn’t go that far,” the President said.
But Obama said he wouldn’t press the issue by going after recreational users in states where voters legalized marijuana in the November elections. “We’ve got bigger fish to fry,” he said. . . . Read Complete Report
Is all the recent talk of secession mere sour grapes over the election, or perhaps something deeper? Currently there are active petitions in support of secession for all 50 states, with Texas taking the lead in number of signatures. Texas has well over the number of signatures needed to generate a response from the administration, and while I wouldn’t hold my breath on Texas actually seceding, I believe these petitions raise a lot of worthwhile questions about the nature of our union.
Is it treasonous to want to secede from the United States? Many think the question of secession was settled by our Civil War. On the contrary; the principles of self-governance and voluntary association are at the core of our founding. Clearly Thomas Jefferson believed secession was proper, albeit as a last resort. Writing toWilliam Giles in 1825, he concluded that states: . . . Read Complete Report

Back in a 1992 old subscription snail mail Hollow Earth Insider I ran an extended report on a revolutionary, outside-the box, issued legal money without any Federal Reserve involvement attached. This new money issued by locals in Ithaca New York called “Ithica Hours.” . . . EDITER
Ithaca HOURS are not backed by national currency and cannot be freely converted to national currency, although some businesses may agree to buy them.[4]
HOURS are printed on high-quality paper and use faint graphics that would be difficult to reproduce, and each bill is stamped with a serial number, in order to discouragecounterfeiting.[2][5]
In 2002, a one-tenth hour bill was introduced, partly due to the encouragement and funding from Alternatives Federal Credit Union and feedback from retailers who complained about the awkwardness of only having larger denominations to work with; the bills bear the signatures of both HOURS President Steve Burke and the president of AFCU.[5] . . .Read Complete Wikipedia Report

40 States Secede, 37 Moving Toward Local Currencies
Tuesday, November 13, 2012 14:52
A check of the White House website today revealed that there are currently over 40 petitions (states) that have requested the secession of their state from the Union.
The states that have filed a petition to secede from the United States is growing every day since the election results were final.
The next step for these states will be a local currency. But local currency’s are nothing new. Below is a list of states and local communities within those states that already have a model in place for just such an event.
It may seem like Monopoly money to outsiders, but a growing number of communities across the U.S. are using homegrown local currencies to stimulate their economies and protect themselves from the nation’s broader economic woes.
Now, even state governments are exploring the option. Lawmakers in more than 10 states, including Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, Idaho and Tennessee, have been circulating proposals to introduce alternative currencies — many of which would be issued in the form of gold or silver coins.
The economy is in trouble and people don’t trust the Federal Reserve and they don’t trust the government, so this is somewhere they can turn, and somewhere they can still do business if the banks close.. . Read Complete Report

To all of the Veterans of the United States wars who have given their all,
so we at home could enjoy the fruits of our labor, and the freedoms we are letting slip through our fingers…
And to those heroes who returned to us missing limbs, blind and mentally burned out,
to inadequate medical and mental help and sometimes even end up living on the streets, or worst.
And to the modern warriors who were lucky enough to return with sound minds and bodies, ready to go to work and build new lives,
to find there are no jobs and many of their homes have been taken from their families due to greed at the highest levels.
I say to you… pray with us at THEI as we hope that those of us who have remained in the Homeland wake up soon and have the courage and guts to reclaim those rights and freedoms as seen by our forefathers that are being shredded under Executive orders and secret society deals every day.
At any rate, America’s Heroes one and all, today is YOUR DAY. Relax and enjoy yourselves .. you gals and guys deserve it.
