On Wednesday, NASA’s unmanned Mars rover Curiosity passed another milestone. Having traversed 358 feet (109 m), the 4X4-sized, nuclear-powered explorer is one-quarter of the way from Bradbury landing to it’s first major destination, Glenelg. Now that Curiosity’s mobility system has had the bugs shaken out of it, it’s the arm’s turn to take center stage. COLUMBUS, Ohio — In the late 1980s, Tommy Thompson was the hunter, searching for and retrieving millions of dollars in gold bars and coins from a ship that sank in a hurricane off the North Carolina coast. Now, he’s the hunted, the subject of an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court in Ohio in one of the lengthy legal fights that followed the discovery.

A federal judge in Ohio ordered the warrant for Thompson this week after he failed to appear in court in a case that has gone on for more than six years. U.S. Marshals said they’re following tips from the public in hopes of locating Thompson, who is believed to have a home in eastern Florida. . . . Read Complete Report

Members of the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover ChemCam team, including Los Alamos National Laboratory scientists, squeezed in a little extra target practice after zapping the first fist-sized rock that was placed in the laser’s crosshairs last weekend. Much to the delight of the scientificteam, the laser instrument has fired nearly 500 shots so far that have produced strong, clear data about the composition of the Martian surface.

“The spectrum we have received back from Curiosity is as good as anything we looked at on Earth,” said Los Alamos National Laboratory planetary scientist Roger Wiens, Principal Investigator of the ChemCam Team. “The entire MSL team was very excited about this and we popped a little champagne. . . . Once again evidence that the planets are cavernous and the probable home of any life is where we have been speculating it was for the past 50 years – INSIDE the planets. . . EDITOR 

“Explanation: What created this unusual hole in Mars? The hole was discovered by chance on images of the dusty slopes of Mars’ Pavonis Mons volcano taken by the HiRISE instrument aboard the robotic Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter currently circling Mars. The hole appears to be an opening to an underground cavern, partly illuminated on the image right. Analysis of this and follow-up images revealed the opening to be about 35 meters across, while the interior shadow angle indicates that the underlying cavern is roughly 20 meters deep. Why there is a circular crater surrounding this hole remains a topic of speculation, as is the full extent of the underlying cavern. Holes such as this are of particular interest because their interior caves are relatively protected from the harsh surface of Mars, making them relatively good candidates to contain Martian life. These pits are therefore prime targets for possible future spacecraft, robots, and even human interplanetary explorers.” . . . from The Black Vault

The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) has a low probability of success, but it would have a high impact if successful. Physicists Paul Davies and Robert Wagner of Arizona State University argued last year that it makes sense to widen the search to scour the Moon for possible alien artifacts. At Penn State, researchers propose the same type of search for Mars. To date, SETI has been dominated by the paradigm of seeking deliberately beamed radio messages. The ASU team argued that Alien civilizations may have sent probes to our region of the galaxy, and that any mission to the solar system would probably have occurred a very long time ago. The Italian researcher Matteo Ianneo who discovered some five interesting structures which look like human faces on Mars, last year, has discovered something stunning again. This time, the man claims to have found geometric structures on Mars which altogether look like a city. The newly discovered “city” comes an year after his first discovery in April 2011 in which he discovered a crystal-clear human “face” (statue) which looks a lot better than the famous Cydonia Martian face.

Space-time is a mathematical coordinate system (3 dimensions of space and 1 of time) in which physical events are located in a single continuum.

According to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, gravitation is the “curvature” of space-time. In other words, because an object’s mass makes the curve of space-time bend like a basin in its region, its gravitational force is amplified and attracts other nearby masses.

Things are going well up to this point. But imagine for a moment if you could undertake a sudden “reversal” of gravitation. Would you also experience a swift U-turn of space-time? If the force of the Earth’s gravitation is initially low under your feet, but abruptly gets reversed to a point high above your head, what kind of space-time turnaround might you undergo?

The Hollow Earth hypothesis, first put forward in 1692 by the English astronomer Edmund Halley, proposes that the planet Earth is either completely hollow or encloses an extensive interior space. The hollow Earth supposedly contains a small interior sun. There are said to be entrances at the north and south poles. During World War II Hitler sent an expedition to the Baltic Island of Rugen to search for proof of a hollow Earth.

Today, that theory has be extended to suggest that the hollow space that connects the north and south poles is really the throat of a space-time wormhole, and the interior sun is actually a rotating black hole, which is prevented by an event horizon from crunching the Earth. . . Andy Basiago first emerged into public life four years ago with sensational claims of discovering life on Mars. He wrote a White Paper in 2008 with his analysis of Mars Rover images which he claimed were conclusive proof of life of Mars and a NASA controlled cover up. Later Basiago publicly declared his participation as a child in Project Pegasus, a DARPA funded project which tested advanced technologies using children. Among these technologies was what Basiago described as “jump room” technology. This allowed the instantaneous transport through time and space. Among the places Basiago claimed to have visited is Mars. There he saw a dinosaur roving the Martian surface hungry for food – human residents lost on the surface being a delicacy for such beasts according to Basiago. Basiago’s most recent claims are even more sensational. President Obama back in 1980 was also part of the Mars program and even got to travel to Mars.
