IN THEORY, PRIVATELY RUN PRISONS are simply another municipal resource that for-profit management companies like the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and GEO Group believe can be run cheaper and more efficiently than in the hands of government agencies: a free market alternative to the bureaucratic red tape of waste and regulation in the world of penitentiary administration. But running a penitentiary is not the same as running a municipal sewage authority. Having a monetary value tied to human incarceration and justice creates a deeply perverse incentive that should not exist in the world of commerce. When the for-profit prison industry places the iron fist of criminal justice in the invisible hands of the market and sells it as a cost-cutting measure, it is hard not to interpret as anything but the predatory capitalism of a self-perpetuating slave state. . . . Corporations are running many Americans prisons, but will they put profits before prisoners?
A grim new statistic: One in every hundred Americans is now locked behind bars. As the prison population grows faster than the government can build prisons, private companies see an opportunity for profit.

For decades, public schools across the nation have amped up the police presence to combat the increased violence in the school system, but critics believe that the private prison industry is benefiting from the accompaniment of police in schools. The trend of random raids in the classroom has resulted in many students imprisoned for being in possession of drugs, but should these random raids continue or are they unconstitutional? Beau Hodai, investigative reporter for DBA Press, joins us with his take on the entrapment of America’s youth.

Lt. Col. Terry Lakin is the author of Officer’s Oath: Why my Vow to Defend the Constitution Demanded that I Sacrifice my Career, a tell all first hand account of his faith and patriotism which ended up resulting in a court-martial, imprisonment and the stripping of all military rank and privileges, including his Army pension all because he challenged Barack Obama’s eligibility. In reading this one has to ask the question, why would Barack Obama allow a fine military man like this to go to jail, when he could have simply provided the documentation and that soldier would have done his duty.
Lakin refused to obey deployment orders, arguing that Obama had not documented his eligibility for the presidency under Article 2, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution. . . . Read Complete Report

Mr. Bennet, if you found any time to watch Sheriff Joe’s most recent press conference on July 17, 2012, you would have noticed the critical information that Detective Mike Zullo presented. He uncovered that since 1955, when Hawaii changed many of their laws as it pertained to birth-certificate validation requirements, anyone that paid a utility bill for twelve months could come and claim that a child was born in Hawaii. And within twelve months of that birth, they would be granted a valid Hawaii birth-certificate.
As you can appreciate, their lax birth certificate laws resulted in Hawaii birth certificates, on their own, being nothing more than Prima Facie (in other words, worthless, unable to stand on their own without additional supporting documentation.) This provides you with an ideal unique opportunity to demand that Hawaii provide you with additional verifiable supporting documentation, since it matters not what Hawaii has in their vaults as it pertains to the birth certificate that the White House posted on their website.
Once again, Mr. Bennet, Detective Mike Zullo has re-opened the door for you to demand that Hawaii provide additional supportive documentation as their own laws require in order to validate anyone’s Hawaii birth certificate. The truth is that few people are ever given a second chance in such a critically important situation as you yourself have been given. Hopefully, you will take this opportunity and help to change the direction that America will be taken should Obama win a second term. . . . Read Complete Report

The federal government didn’t offer a reward for the capture of Houston grandmother Elisa Castillo, nor did it accuse her of touching drugs, ordering killings or getting rich off crime.
But three years after a jury convicted her in a conspiracy to smuggle at least a ton of cocaine on tour buses from Mexico to Houston, the 56-year-old first-time offender is locked up for life, without the possibility of parole.
Three years ago, Elisa Castillo entered into an unusual business arrangement at the urging of her boyfriend: a Mexican businessman agreed to partner with her to purchase three tour buses that would travel between Mexico and Houston. He fronted the money for the buses, but they were kept in her name. Castillo claims she was unaware the buses were also fitted with secret compartments enabling them to smuggle cocaine across the border, but she was convicted nonetheless.

When we talk about the war on drugs, which is increasingly turning into a real war, we often overlook the fact that the “criminals” involved in the drug trade aren’t actually violating anyone’s rights. When a drug dealer is hauled before a judge, there is no victim standing behind the prosecutor claiming damages. Everyone participating in the drug trade does so voluntarily. However, there are a lot more crimes for which this is also true. Millions upon millions of Americans have been thrown into cages without a victim ever claiming damages. It is important to look at the burden this mass level of incarceration places upon our society.
In light of that, let us review some statistics which demonstrate just how destructive the mass incarceration of victimless criminals has become to our society. The 2009 federal prison population consisted of: , , , Read Complete Report
