Officer cleared after going to wrong address, shooting innocent grandpa in his garage

“FORT WORTH, TX — An elderly man was slain in his own garage because police “inadvertently began searching” the wrong address while investigating a burglary call.  Spotting a man who appeared “standoffish” in his own garage, police opened fire, killing a 72-year-old grandfather.  After months of investigation, the officer has been cleared and is back on the streets.”

This type of incident is why the Indiana law makes sense and will save innocent lives. It forces officers, on fear of death, to identify themselves both audibly and visibly to avoid being shot justifiably. And it just might save the lives of every day citizens, although that doesn’t seem to be a concern of nearly enough cops.

Two and a Half Years Later, Expected Dire Results Absent

In June, 2012, Indiana became the first U.S. state to specifically allow homeowners to use force, even deadly force, against police officers or other public servants during illegal acts commissions by those public servants, according to the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys in Washington, which represents and supports prosecutors.

Then, this past week, the Indiana Senate passed a bill legallizing hemp production in the State, despite Federal law to the contrary.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig has an idea for fighting crime — arm more citizens.

“When we look at the good community members who have concealed weapons permits, the likelihood they’ll shoot is based on a lack of confidence in this police department,” said the chief at a press conference this week, The Detroit News reports.

The chief said he believes the financially crippled city’s residents are feeling safer and violent crime dropped seven percent in 2013. But Craig said that he’s changed his mind over the years over whether citizens should be armed. . . Read Complete Report

ATF AGENT: New EXPLOSIVE ALLEGATIONS ABOUT ‘FAST AND FURIOUS’ AND BRIAN TERRY’S DEATH

The secret gun running operation was intended to bring more support for the Controllers plan to bring complete gun control to Americans. It failed miserably and people are still be murdered by the guns the ATF smuggled into Mexico and turned over to the drug cartels. . . EDITOR

From The Blaze

John Dodson, the federal agent who blew the lid off the Justice Department’s “Fast and Furious” gun-walking scandal, claims the FBI had ties to the men who killed U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in 2010 near Nogales, Ariz. In fact, Dodson says the Mexican bandits who gunned down Terry were working for FBI operatives and had been sent to the border to do a “drug rip-off” using intelligence gathered by the DEA.

Dodson, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said he doesn’t think the FBI was part of the rip-off crew, but the agency was “directing the rip crew.” The explosive claims were made in an interview with The Arizona Republic this week and are already creating some waves across the Internet. . . . For forty to forty-five percent of Americans, guns offer very little mystery or intrigue. They are inanimate objects; simple tools. Yet, for the majority of Americans, unfamiliarity leaves them easily persuaded by a bewildering political barrage of redundant malarkey.

The Amazing Ammo Run of 2013

I try to keep up with gun and ammo trends, well, because I enjoy sport shooting. This piece from American Rifleman was brought to my attention. I only had a problem with a couple points, the biggest is the idea that DHS provides ammo to 70,000 enforcement officers. It’s much closer to 30,000 enforcement officers and 40,000 bureaucrats, 39,000 of whom are useless eaters with regards to burning off precious ammo. I’ve been looking for 22 LR ammo for 6 months. The majority of that shortage is driven, in my opinion, by the greater profit margin in  Read more
