Billboard Controversy Comes To North Texas (w/ video report)

from CBS DFW

August 20, 2012 10:59 PM

GAINESVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) – A billboard that sparked a protest in Indiana because of its reference to the Navy Seals, and removing the President from office, has appeared along I-35 in North Texas.

The ad in Gainesville depicts two men in camouflage holding weapons. The text next to the picture, in a military style font, says “The Seals removed one threat to America,” a reference to the killing of Osama bin Laden. It continues, “Remove the other in November.” . . . Read Complete Report

Tom Head, Texas Judge: Obama Reelection Could Lead To ‘Civil War,’ I’m Ready To ‘Take Up Arms’

from Huffington Post

Tom Head, a county judge in Lubbock, Texas, plunged far out into the periphery of anti-President Barack Obama conspiracy theories on Monday, pushing a particularly outrageous one as justification for a tax increase in the county.

Head told FOX34 that Lubbock’s law enforcement needed extra tax dollars in order to be prepared for a full-scale uprising, which he said could be a byproduct of Obama’s reelection. According to Head, the president is seeking to sign a variety of United Nations treaties that will effectively take precedent over domestic law.

“He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N., and what is going to happen when that happens?” Head asked. “I’m thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy.” . . . NAACP Event Requires Photo I.D. To See Holder Speak In State Being Sued Over Voter ID

Boy… talk about talking out of both sides of you mouth at once!

But then again you cant blame the NAACP. After all Eric (With) Holder has been charged with Contempt of Congress.  The NAACP leadership might have felt that there might have been a process server in the crowd. Or better yet some law officer not in (With)Holder’s pocket might have been there to arrest Mr. (With) Holder. Checking ID’s might just weed the honest men out before they have a chance to serve or arrest  Mr. (With)Holder

But still there’s great humor in this.

You gotta have photo ID to watch Mr. (With)Holder give a speech explaining  why you don’t have to have a Photo ID to vote. . . . In other words the vanity of this present administration is such that you have to have ID to watch a liar talk but you don’t need one to vote them out.

In many states you need a photo ID to buy a pack of cigarettes, but you don’t need one to vote. Of course the cigarettes might harm your body so the government needs to “protect young bodies while letting undocumented voters vote will only harm our country. Really does make since doesn’t it?.

And just think,  unlike 3rd country voters – we don’t even get to dip our fingers in blue ink to prove we don’t vote more that once.  Go figure.

This whole deal sounds like something out of a B-grade NAZI movie. . . EDITOR

Excerpted from TOWN HALL:

Earlier today, Attorney General Eric Holder addressed the NAACP Nation Convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. What did media need in order to attend? That’s right, government issued photo identification (and a second form of identification too!), something both Holder and the NAACP stand firmly against when it comes to voting. Holder’s DOJ is currently suing Texas for “discriminatory” voter ID laws. From the press release:

All media must present government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver’s license) as well as valid media credentials. Members of the media must RSVP to receive press credentials at http://action.naacp.org/page/s/registration. For security purposes, media check-in and equipment set up must be completed by 7:45 a.m. CDT for an 8:00 a.m. CDT security sweep. Once the security sweep is completed, additional media equipment will NOT be permitted to enter and swept equipment will NOT be permitted to exit. . . . Read Complete Report

Why is Elisa Castillo being so harshly punished for being an unknowing participant in a drug deal?

Written by Judy Molland

The federal government didn’t offer a reward for the capture of Houston grandmother Elisa Castillo, nor did it accuse her of touching drugs, ordering killings or getting rich off crime.

But three years after a jury convicted her in a conspiracy to smuggle at least a ton of cocaine on tour buses from Mexico to Houston, the 56-year-old first-time offender is locked up for life, without the possibility of parole.

Three years ago, Elisa Castillo entered into an unusual business arrangement at the urging of her boyfriend: a Mexican businessman agreed to partner with her to purchase three tour buses that would travel between Mexico and Houston. He fronted the money for the buses, but they were kept in her name. Castillo claims she was unaware the buses were also fitted with secret compartments enabling them to smuggle cocaine across the border, but she was convicted nonetheless.

Killing Bigfoot OK in Texas – if he’s Texan

from FoxNews.com

Texas has no position on the existence of Bigfoot — but go on, hunt it anyway.

John Lloyd Scharf, a Bigfoot fan from Oregon, emailed the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department last week about hunting unknown creatures.

Chief of staff Lt. David. Sinclair told FoxNews.com he responded with a straight description of the law — which hinges not on whether the mythical beast exists, but on precisely how the government would label it.

“The statute that you cite (Section 61.021) refers only to game birds, game animals, fish, marine animals or other aquatic life. Generally speaking, other nongame wildlife is listed in Chapter 67 (nongame and threatened species) and Chapter 68 (nongame endangered species),” Sinclair wrote back to Scharf.

“An exotic animal is an animal that is non-indigenous to Texas. Unless the exotic is an endangered species, then exotics may be hunted on private property with landowner consent.”

The law boils down to provenance, Scharf decided. If Bigfoot is indigenous to Texas, it can be killed. . . . Read Complete Report

February 16, 2012LEBANON – The Beirut River mysteriously turned blood red Wednesday after a stream of unidentified red liquid began pouring from the southern bank of the river in Furn al-Shubbak. The source of the liquid had yet to be determined Wednesday evening, as the river continued to empty the red-colored water into the Mediterranean Sea. Government and local officials rushed to the scene at the Chevrolet crossing of Furn al-Shubbak Wednesday morning in an attempt to locate the sewage canal that was dumping the red-colored water but they were unable to locate the source. . . End Times? Texas Lake Turns Blood-Red

By Stephanie Pappas, LiveScience Senior Writer

A Texas lake that turned blood-red this summer may not be a sign of the End Times, but probably is the end of a popular fishing and recreation spot.

A drought has left the OC Fisher Reservoir in San Angelo State Park in West Texas almost entirely dry. The water that is left is stagnant, full of dead fish — and a deep, opaque red.

The color has some apocalypse believers suggesting that OC Fisher is an early sign of the end of the world, but Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries officials say the bloody look is the result of Chromatiaceae bacteria, which thrive in oxygen-deprived water.

“It’s just heartbreaking,” said Charles Cruz, a fish and wildlife technician with Texas Parks and Wildlife in San Angelo, Tex.
