Tuesday marked the two year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. Two years ago protesters hit the street in mass numbers to show their disdain for the economic state of the country and their anger towards the US government for bailing out the big banks. So what has changed in the last couple years? Occupy activists Sam Jewler, Mike Perlman and Ilana Alazzeh join us to give us an update on the movement.
The HCLU’s video advocacy team travelled to Mexico to film the negative consequences of the war on drugs campaign that has been launched by President Felipe Calderon in 2006.
When they first entered the country the number of people killed in the war approached 40.000. Today, the death toll is approximately 60.000. With the help of a like-minded local NGO, Espolea, they interviewed several politicians, professionals and activists to find out why so many people had to die: were they the necessary costs of an unescapable but winnebale war, as many decision makers say, or the victims of a failed policy? Please watch and share our video to find out the answers!
When the fight started against Agenda 21, those of us working to expose it were largely ignored by the main stream media and even the established Conservative movement and its media. Too far out there, they said, to be taken seriously.
Then, as more and more Americans began to experience the dire effects of Sustainable Development in their daily lives, suddenly our message began to take hold. Today, thousands of Americans have taken up the fight. And anti-Agenda 21 activists are storming planning meetings, demanding answers. State legislatures and even some county and city governments are passing legislation against it. It seems the Agenda 21 fight is everywhere.
So, now, proponents of the Sustainable Development policy are alarmed and working feverishly to counter our claims that such controls over local development and energy policy have their roots in international policy. In particular, our claims that these planning policies come from the UN’s Agenda 21, that was introduced to the world at the Earth Summit in Rio in 1992. . . . Read Complete Report
The George Zimmerman defense has recently gotten a lucky break. Angela Corey, Florida’s state attorney and the prosecutor against Zimmerman, has been indicted by a citizens’ grand jury for allegedly falsifying an arrest warrant and the complaint that led to Zimmerman being charged with the second-degree murder of Trayvon Martin.
The indictment accuses Corey of allegedly withholding photographs of Zimmerman’s head after the incident. Also, Corey allegedly falsely signed an arrest warrant under oath without including the pictures as evidence. Critics claim that Corey rushed the arrest warrant through because activists were rallying around the Trayvon Martin shooting, demanding that Zimmerman be charged with murder. Critics argue that Corey was attempting to secure a reelection with the support of the activists. . . . Read Complete Report

Activist Kidnapped by Police in Philadelphia After Attending Kokesh Hearing
Welcome to the Nazi police state ladies and gentlemen, and if you think that my use of the word “Nazi” is sensationalist, then you haven’t been paying close enough attention.
As we reported earlier this week, Adam Kokesh, and organizer N.A. Poe were arrested at the fifth edition of the “Smokedown Prohibition” in Philadelphia. Yesterday we confirmed that they are both being held in a federal detention center on trumped up charges of assaulting a police officer, when video evidence clearly shows otherwise.
Activists everywhere are rightfully outraged, and many have made efforts in the Philadelphia area to support these political prisoners. As expected, the police state is not taking this lightly, and yesterday they even arrested and innocent person simply for attending a court hearing. . . . Read Complete Report
