From The New York Times By VICTORIA BURNETT Published: December 7, 2013

MEXICO CITY — It is a rare day in Cuba when the Communist Party’s triumphalist newspaper suggests that the government — just maybe — messed up. Or when the party’s chief ideologist renounces government secrecy. Or a salsa star, performing at an official concert, calls for the freedom to vote and to smoke marijuana.

But such gestures of openness are becoming more common. . . . Read Complete Report

Retro ~ October 17, 2012 : Government Releases More Declassified Flying Saucer Docs

Featured Image: Photo Cover of Project 1794. U.S Air Force secret plans to build a flying saucer in the 1950′s. CREDIT US Air Force SOURCE Wired magazine

From Popular Mechanics  October 17, 2012 at 4:25:00 PM by Joe Pappalardo

The staff at the National Declassification Center in College Park, Md., knew they found something interesting when they cracked open a cardboard box and saw cutaway schematics of flying saucers printed on the pages. The pages describe an Air Force flying saucer program that started in the mid-1950’s and ended in 1961. In the upper right hand of each page was the icon of a flying disc stamped over a red arrow, the insignia of Project 1794.

Last week, the NDC staff released a summary report from the project, dated 1956, and the global media went into a frenzy. The documents related to a flying saucer program by a Canadian firm, Avro Aircraft, that the U.S. military funded. Back then, the Air Force wanted a supersonic fighter while the Army wanted a flying jeep. In the end, after $10 million, the saucer was nothing more than a glorified, 18-ft-diameter hovercraft that lost control and stability after it rose above its 5 foot cushion of air. (It’s never a good idea to build an aircraft with an aerodynamic center far from its center of gravity.) . . . Read Complete Report w/link to complete Project 1794 file.

What stories did establishment media ignore in 2012?

WND’s annual review presents news that wasn’t ‘fit to print’

While Democrats and establishment media contend vote fraud is largely a myth, an abundance of evidence surfaced in the 2012 election to indicate it is flourishing in American politics.

Did it impact the outcome Nov. 6? The fact that any reasonable observer who does his homework can’t give a definitive answer to that question is cause enough for concern.

The reports of vote fraud top WND’s annual list of the 10 most “spiked” or underreported stories of the last year.

At the end of each year, many news organizations typically present their retrospective replays of what they consider to have been the top news stories of the previous 12 months. WND’s editors, however, long have considered it more newsworthy to publicize the most underreported or unreported news events of the year – to shine a spotlight on those issues that the establishment media successfully “spiked.” Read Complete Report

The Mayan 2012 Prophecy: The Orwellian “End of the World” Doomsday is “Made in America”

The 2012 Mayan Prophecy has been readily distorted and misunderstood.

The End of the Mayan Calendar on December 21, 2012 has nothing to do with the “End of the World”.

In fact, the Mayan calendar does not end on December 21st, 2012.

Rather December 21 marks the beginning of a new “Long Cycle” in the Mayan calendar system. (See Washington’s Blog, End of the World: Hear the 2012 Prophecy … Direct from the Mouths of the Mayan Priests, Global Research, December 13, 2012)

The End of the World concept is a falsehood and misinterpretation of Mayan thought. . . . Read Complete Report

Fringe groups all set for end of the world

12:53 am | Thursday, December 20th, 2012

BUENOS AIRES—As mountaintops go, this one is for meditating. And the odd UFO sighting. But now it is closing for a few days to avert a mass suicide by folks girding for the world’s end.

That doomsday is indeed upon us—with Christmas just around the corner, heaven forbid—is one gloomy interpretation of a Mayan India calendar.

To wit, Dec. 21 marks the end of a 5,200-year cycle on the Mayan “Long Count” calendar.

It’s a cause for celebration for many in Mexico and Central America, but spells doomsday for some believers. . . . Read Complete Report
