Adam was arrested on a bogus warrant and did a week in jail as a result of this. He was held for Maryland to pick him up from jail in DC and they never did. This is not some big conspiracy, just another case of petty harassment of activists that is a feature of modern America, where everything I want to do is illegal. 😉

MN Lawmakers: Legalize Pot For Recreational Use -Full News Conference
Minnesota has legalized some forms of medical marijuana. But now there’s a move to legalize it for recreational use as well. Several DFL lawmakers are proposing a law to do that. They’re also proposing a state constitutional amendment to make pot legal. Speakers include Bill authors Rep. Jason Metsa (DFL – Virginia) and Rep. Tina Liebling (DFL – Rochester) .
The bill is opposed by at least one key Republican— the GOP controls the legislature — and Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton opposes it.
If the legislature passes the constitutional amendment, it will go directly to the voters with or without Dayton’s signature.
Applebaum says realizes the bill isn’t likely to pass this session, but says it is a conversation starter about something that eventually has to change.
Both sides, for and against the legalization of marijuana, defend their viewpoints through Facebook. However, what happens with opinion turns into deception?

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — School officials in northern Colorado are asking parents to take care with their newly legal recreational marijuana, after fourth graders were caught dealing the drug on an elementary school campus.
John Gates, director of safety for Weld County School District 6, said Wednesday that the students involved, three 10-year-old boys and a 10-year-old girl at Greeley’s Monfort Elementary School, faced tough discipline but not suspension or expulsion. He would not elaborate on their punishment.

Anti-government activist Adam Kokesh, who is currently jailed on drug charges and is facing a firearms charge in D.C., says he will someday run for President on a platform of abolishing the federal government.
A research team led by the Canadian Museum of Nature has identified the first evidence for an extinct giant camel in Canada’s High Arctic. The discovery is based on 30 fossil fragments of a leg bone found on Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, and represents the most northerly record for early camels, whose ancestors are known to have originated in North America some 45 million years ago.
The fossils were collected over three summer field seasons (2006, 2008 and 2010) and are about three and a half million years old, dating from the mid-Pliocene Epoch. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has proposed a new unified standard for event data recorders for cars, commonly known as “black boxes.”
Such devices, which are already in use in 96 percent of 2013 model year cars, record various types of data that can be accessed in multiple ways. The agency also estimates that 92 percent of 2010 model year cars have “some EDR capability.” The NHTSA estimates that requiring EDRs would add just $20 in manufacturing costs to each car. . . . With Tropical Storm Isaac still gaining strength and possibly getting hurricane status, it still hasn’t deterred people from protesting at the upcoming Republican National Convention (RNC).
The convention starts on Monday and organizations are preparing plans in case Isaac delivers powerful rain and winds to the Tampa area.
According to the Associated Press (AP), a small group of protestors have said the storm might derail their demonstration which includes large signs and papier-mâché political puppets. . . . Read Complete Report
A coalition of protesters laid out their plans for the upcoming Republican National Convention. They have demands, and they’re hoping the world will listen.
The Coalition to March on the RNC says their message is simple.
“We’re here to demand good jobs, healthcare, affordable education, equality and peace,” said Jared Hamil, a spokesman for the Coalition to March on the RNC.
They held a press conference Wednesday morning at Perry Harvey Sr. Park in downtown Tampa. It will be the site of one of the largest rallys planned for the RNC.
“You’ll see a long line of 5,000 protestors, something Tampa I don’t think has ever seen before,” Hamil said. The group will meet in the park on Monday, August 27th. They plan to hear from 30 speakers and then by noon, hit the streets. . . . Text posted with the video on youtube
