The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change treaty has been profoundly important to Americans ever since it was signed by former President George H.W. Bush and ratified by the Senate in 1992.

Under the UNFCCC, a new treaty is being negotiated in Lima, Peru to cap and tax greenhouse gas emissions that are emitted when fossil fuels are burned to produce America’s energy that maintains our enviable standard of living. The Lima draft is to be completed at the UNFCCC’s meeting in Paris, France late next year. The case involves two Secret Service agents who allegedly forced protesters out of earshot of the president, while allowing supporters to remain within earshot when Bush visited Oregon in 2004. Back in the mid 1960’s I worked as a pressman in a printing company and we had to take turns taking lunch; half the workers would man the presses while the other half took their break… The only way I agreed to take the job was if my lunch-time had included the time when the late Paul Harvey’s show was on the radio.

Then in the 1970’s I was working construction in the L.A. area. I always took my lunch break so I could listen to the incredibly funny comedy team of “Hudson & Landry” who had a live daily call-in show. I also bought the 45 record of this essay.

Here are two cases of public warnings by radio personalities of the day warning of our country’s ultimate destruction if we kept heading in the direction we are heading. Few listened. They are two essay’s from the past we MUST HEAR today!

A subscriber sent me a link to this original, ultra-rare live footage of an NBC news report on the alleged crash 9/11 of United Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA. It was never re-broadcast or seen again until a YouTube user by the handle kbootsy uploaded it and apparently sold it to metacafe.com, which although it does not prevent embdedding – the encoding is at odds with most people’s platforms.Luckily, I was able to find this version of the original footage on Vimeo.

The time has come and almost gone for Washington to repair its broken relations with Cuba. For 53 years the White House has maintained a punishing embargo on trade with Cuba. Its proponents, with the goal of removing Cuba’s revolutionary government, still plead: “Give it time.”

No, I’m not talking about the blood-sucking plant of the Little Shop of Horrors named Seymour. Although there may be a little bit of blood sucking associated with Seymour, Indiana as well.

After the end of the War Between the States (alternatively named the War of Northern Aggression), there was little work and nearly no prosperity in Seymour, Indiana, a town that had held many sympathizers for the Confederacy, and had even been home to a double handful of saboteurs and provocateurs who went out to aid John Hunt Morgan’s raid into Indiana. Another person of note that went forth to conquer from Seymour was John Mellencamp. His raids continue.

By early October of 1866, the local economy was in a dire state. The only business besides banks that was, to one extent or another, thriving was the railroads. Two rail lines crossed one another in Seymour, and both were doing fairly well. The North/South line, the Jeffersonville, Madison and Indianapolis Railroad, was built in the 1840s connecting Indianapolis to the Ohio River at Jeffersonville. It ran through the Shields farm at the area that is now Seymour. In 1852 when the East/West railroad, the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad, was going to be built, Capt. Meedy Shields who was the cousin of General John Tipton talked the surveyor, John Seymour, into putting it through his land. In return he named the town Seymour. All trains had to stop at a crossroad, making Seymour a bustling community and also making its railroad industry and associated travelers prime targets for criminals. Read more
