DEA Allowed Criminal Cops to Build Their Own Drug Empires for Over a Decade

According to a whistleblower inside the DEA, the agency “allowed and promoted” multiple officers to run their own personal drug cartels for years.

New Orleans, LA — For over a decade, agents with a New Orleans-based DEA task force sold drugs, intimidated informants and stole cash on the job with total impunity.

According to the Advocate, Chad Scott, the former leader of the task force has been fired in the midst of the investigation. It was reported that Scott and some of the officers working under him had a massive operation selling painkillers and that they would sometimes sell other drugs that they managed to steal from dealers during raids.

“There were a series of complaints that went back years. This is a guy who probably shouldn’t have been allowed to run his own task force,” an anonymous law enforcement official said.

The good news, in this case, is that a large and growing number of federal criminal drug cases are being reversed and nonviolent offenders are being set free due to the fact that this corruption has been exposed. . . . Read Complete Report

SIERRA VISTA, Arizona — Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels doesn’t mince words. He’s angry that local law enforcement and the citizens who call the Southwest border home have been left out of the decision making process when it comes to security and immigration reform.

Dannels has lived along the border since 1984. He remembers when the dangers from smugglers circumventing the rocky, mountainous terrain were few and far between. Now, he says, a different breed of narcotics traffickers has amassed weapons, technology and small armies of death; threatening not only the stability of Mexico but U.S. national security as well. He works closely with DEA, FBI, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement but the system is not perfect. . . . Read Complete Report

In the state of Oregon, the Drug Enforcement Administration is attempting to gain access to millions of private prescription records without a warrant. According to reports, the step is taken to crackdown on the abuse of prescription pills, but the American Civil Liberties Union is saying not so fast. The ACLU claims that the DEA’s move is a violation of patient’s fourth amendment rights. Mike Riggs, associate editor for Reason Magazine, chimes in on the issue.

Chris Williams operated a completely legal medical marijuana dispensary in Montana, where he has complied with all of the local and state regulations, as crazy and ridiculous as they are.

In the past law enforcement representatives have even been through the dispensary; during their encounters they been nothing but friendly and openly approved of what was going on.

Despite the local legalization measures, in March 2011 federal agents raided a whole list of medical marijuana dispensaries throughout the state of Montana, including the one owned by Williams. . . . Read Complete Report

Voters in Colorado and Washington have decided to legalize cannabis for recreational use, however the feds have promised to ignore states rights and lock people up anyway, regardless of local laws.

Bob Tuskin reported on the story for The Intel Hub this morning, saying that

“Both Colorado and Washington have passed referendums legalizing cannabis use. The plant is still made illegal according to federal law.

“Colorado’s Proposition 64 makes it legal for anyone over the age of 21 to possess marijuana and for businesses to sell it.  It will be interesting to see how the feds treat this.

“Barry Soetoro claimed he would not go after legal medical facilities and respect state laws. Fail!”” . . .Read Complete Report

DEA To Legalize Natural THC… But Only For Big Pharma (w/video)

Those of us within the medical marijuana industry – suffer no illusion regarding what is apparently the true nature of the DEA, and their make-believe war on drugs. As the DEA’s fantasy war against its own people, has been framed in such a way as to not offend the public. While at the same time fooling them into believing that their children are being protected from dangerous drugs; when in actuality, the DEA is merely protecting the massive profits that are being raked in by the major drug companies. These major pharmaceuticals companies have a long and sorted history of finding ‘street corner’ drug trends. Then copying, repackaging and distributing them as a new medication. Then just for good measure, selling them back to our kids – as some new FDA wonder pill. . . . Read Complete Report

DEA agents out of control in Honduras (video report w/ bonus video)

When does this madness stop.

Even an idiot can see that this so called war on drugs is a failure.

Of course, those of us who have been watching this phoney war since it started have seen enough paper documentation, video surveillance, whispered audio and blundering government 3 letter agencies  to know that the same people keeping the failed drug war on full-speed-ahead are the exact same people making the big bucks off of these drugs. In more ways than one. (Check GO DEEPER at the end of this post . . EDITOR

Carroll: DEA chief stonewalls on marijuana

You know federal drug policy is bankrupt when the chief of the Drug Enforcement Administration is reluctant to acknowledge even a simple fact that any eighth-grader could confirm.

“Opiates are far more addictive than marijuana,” Congressman Jared Polis said last week. “That is a fact.”

Yet this particular fact is one that the Democrat was able to extract from DEA administrator Michele Leonhart only after a stunning interrogation in which she acted as if he were demanding she choose between Hitler and Stalin on a scale of evil.

The relevant exchange began at a congressional hearing on the DEA’s priorities when Polis asked Leonhart if crack cocaine (not an opiate, obviously) were more dangerous for a user than marijuana.

Leonhart: “I believe all illegal drugs are bad.”.  .  . Read Complete Report
